I’d say the most likely circumstance is that she is someone’s incapable family member, judging by the last Republican administration. 

Patriotic people don’t know the patriotic song.

You don’t have to be clever when “owning the libs” can be used to turn any of your failings in a way to goad or insult your enemies.

My best guess is she could tell she was off, and each jarring shift was her trying to find the right key for the next round? Or, maybe, in Conservative tradition, she was just totally confident that she was nailing it the whole time.

This is perplexing. How does the sort of singer who’s invited to perform at CPAC not know what key “The Star-Spangled Banner” is in? She’s singing this like she’s never heard it performed before.

LOL this was so bad I thought someone had deliberately done a bad autotune on her voice.  Turned out to be a perfect summary of CPAC--don’t be ashamed of your aggressive incompetence; lean into it!

Depends what you call “prison”. Technically, he’s risking house arrest (is “castle arrest” a thing?) for a full covid year.
