Hum you've heard about the situation in North Mali right? Tuareg salafists (Ansar Dine): their goal was to institute shariah in Mali.

Come on. A kosher supermarket? In all likelihood, the people shopping there will be Jewish.

Well that sociologist (or whoever he was) is right. Most of the antisemitism in France comes from French Muslims. There have been several incidents where synagogues have been attacked and it always done by muslims. Not to mention Mohammed Mera who shot three Jewish kids in 2012. Or Medhi Nemmouche who killed 4 people

Great. Let's oppose both tragedies. That's really the way to go. Good job. It's no about white people, it's about the fact that Nigeria is a fragile state prone to coups and civil war while France is a democracy where that sort of attack almost never happens nowadays. Nigeria, sadly, has seen several of those

Isn't it truly fascinating how people who have no fucking idea about anything (meaning the French context surrounding those events) and who on top of that don't even read, let alone speak French, use those cartoons as examples of Charlie Hebdo racism?

The Daily Mail calling them lesbian would actually surprise me. Women's relationships with other women don't tend to be taken seriously at all so two women can hold hands, kiss, hell, I'm sure having sex, and the media will still be like "oh they're such BFFs"

In several European countries (perhaps all of them, I don't know), not vaccinating your kid is illegal. To be able to put your kid through school, they have to be vaccinated. It's just common sense, really.

I can't believe you're comparing a parent's expectation of their kid's future job prospect with the fact that suddenly your son is a daughter. People like you say this sort of stuff "oh but you're not losing, you're gaining a daughter" as if that's super easy to accept.

Ah thanks! You too! Unless, like me, you've almost given up. But hey, most of the time I'd rather be watching Netflix, eating pizza and drinking beer in bed so life isn't too bad after all ;=)

I've done the same thing as you: I start super hopeful, thinking "well, I'm sure I'll meet someone great, or at least someone decent" and then losing complete hope. I feel like a snob whenever I read a profile and the person has only listed one book (out of five) and there are 10 spelling mistakes in their profile,

Hum first time I've heard about this. Not sure if this is really prevalent. Maybe it is in the US, but anywhere else, I'm pretty sure people know that the UK has had a lot of immigration, like any Western country and especially because of the former British Empire.

Yeah, I don't know. I've been asked to cover my shoulders before entering a cathedral (and that was only in Italy, other European countries were fine) and that pissed me off. Especially because they only recquire that women cover their shoulders, not men. It's one thing to prohibit people wearing bathing suits (yes,

I'm not saying they're blameless. Not at all. I just think that all the people in the comments saying these people deserve to rot in hell go too far. Besides, they are already in hell: their daughter is dead. I'm sure that wasn't their intention, however misguided and ignorant their actions were.

Yeah, he seems like a really great, smart guy. I don't have a crush but I think he's lovely.

Because you think that she could actually enter the mosque NOT being covered from head to toe?

"Drove her to suicide"? No. I'm sure they were convinced they meant well, that they were helping her. They weren't, obviously, but those parents lost their kid and I think it's terrible and feel very sorry for them. Knowing they are partly responsible for her death must feel like absolute hell (hence the denial, very

They've lost their kid. Isn't this terrible enough?

LOL

Yep, that's what I heard/read as well. There's nothing wrong with being ambitious but I've always thought she was playing Rachel (on Glee) a bit *too* convincingly.

I disagree. I've always felt that somehow J.K. Rowling "punished" Hermione by having her end up with Ron. I mean, Ron! He's not her equal, he's not intellectually challenging, what will they talk about? Not to mention he continuously whines throughout the book.
