Not true, in general, as long as they are here legally.....there are MANY resident aliens in the US. E.g., the well-known “green card holders.”

People in the US legally “get” most rights that citizens get - they are among the group called “US persons.” They don’t get all rights, however, e.g., they can’t vote, although dems would like to change that for them and illegals (and are, in many locales).
