Is it me or is traffic down here because of self-Spankfeller?

It happened to her neighbour too, and the epiphany is that it would have happened to the neighbour at least 20 years before, crushing any lingering hopes that it was somehow a real person at the door(s).

I didn’t understand the reveal at the end? Is she saying it happened to her mother, too? It was creepy until the finish when I was like, “Wait, what happened?”

I know you admit opening the door was dumb, but for anyone else:

Naw son.....the spirits of all the black people tortured and killed on plantations dragged all those confederate soldiers straight to hell.

Yes, it is. The police didn’t give a single shit, so he’s still out there, grifting and victimizing women. He’s the only person I’ve ever met who I’m fully confident has either killed someone already or will someday soon, especially given all the statistics about men who strangle women.

This is very creepy and really sad and ultra-infuriating. That a guy who has harmed women in these ways is still out and about getting dates and new relationships. I hope he left your former-roomie alone and she feels safe and secure in her new situation. I’m sad for you that this experience also altered your sense of

the Ouija board sessions story is like a movie producer said “a Harmony Korin movie, but make it horror.” is it just me?

Came here for this. Huge leap of reasoning to go from “star-69 used to exist” to “call came from inside the house”

After going back on forth on whether to submit, I finally decided to just go for it but was too late for this year. Here is my scary story, and it’s a whole lot truer than the thrift store one!

Preeeeeach. You can always tell. Oh DID he confess to the murder in front of a stranger and the girl’s close relative? Cool. Totally plausible.

Yeah the thrift store story is not real. It’s a moderately well written short story but...not real. I wish people would stop treating this as a fiction submission contest, I only want that real shit!

Yes, but her neighbor was acting like it wasn’t a person, but some sort of haunting. I’ve never heard of a ghost/demon that knocks on your door for a bit of a chat!

“So this guy sees my petite frame and stunning fit and confesses to a murder. What a haul! And on top of that I got a free sandwich. Welp back to etsy’n hum de dum de dum de dum.”

I didn’t understand the phone clapping one. That seems like an enormous leap to say that the call came from inside the house. Prank calls were extremely common in the 80s and 90s. It’s so much more likely that this was just a coincidence that the prank call’s content matched what she was doing at the time, than it is

I agree it depends on the part of the country except that she said the story occurred in Georgia.

The thrift store story is so obviously fiction. So obviously self glorifying fanfic (egofic?). There were better, more believable stories.

I didn't believe the thrift store story at all. It seems like complete fiction.

“This was one of those towns that had a diner where everyone goes in the morning.”

I don’t know why the ‘Look at Me’ story isn’t included. That story was posted years ago and I still think of it often as it still scares the hell out of me.
