I had a miscarriage that was totally painless. It’s rare to have no pain, like me, but normally you can manage with regular pain meds. I had to wear gigantic pads for two days, but needed little other intervention. If I had an important event, I’d have been able to go, though I wouldn’t have wanted to.

I do too. I’m surprised to see few people with this opinion on Jez. I quite regularly hear people railing against influencers, but somehow it’s supposedly more legit to write ad copy or be a model. I seriously wonder whether this is not because many, many influencers are young women, and peoples’ propensity to shit on

I can think of another good way: use a points exchanger to transfer from one program to another. You lose some percentage of points for each exchange, but it’s better than losing them all. I use Points Loyalty Wallet.

Twelve years ago, I bought a pair of shoes much like a gold version of the PVC flip flops. Their soles were squishy and they had a low heel. Somehow, my foot did not slip and they were quite comfortable. This is not to defend the PVC sandals; my shoes were not beautiful and I got them for under 10$ at a pharmacy.

I only realized when I went out to BC and a new friend made a racist joke when we drove by an indigenous person. My fellow Quebecer and I lectured and debated him for the good part of a hour long drive. That was in 2009, and it’s just been thing after thing since then. Most recently, I listened to the first episode of

Yeah. I really would love their jobs.

I mean, none of the guys have ever taught a course and they rarely discuss grantwriting. I don’t think they have grad students under their supervision either. Also, they got a DOD contract that was not mediated by their school’s funding office. If they were profs, I think that’d violate the school’s IP contract. My

You are bang-on that Penny and Leonard are both stupid! Moreover, they barely communicate, so it would actually have been out of character for them to talk kids pre-wedding. That’s why it’s growth for Penny to acknowledge that her actions and decisions impact her own husband. The bar is that low.

Yes. I think D&D is actually having a moment now. I know so many people newly getting into it, returning, or listening to D&D podcasts. Also, the new season of Riverdale centers on D&D!

Yeah, one year my husband was given 3 sets of these things. I was perpetually annoyed by even the small amount of space they took in our freezer and whatever carbon footprint they have. However, I found a legit use for them: cooling your skin after a burn. You don’t get water everywhere (my plastic baggies of ice

Mysterium. It’s co-op, you can make it as challenging as you like, and it’s easy to learn. One player is a ghost trying to communicate visions to a team of psychics who use the visions to solve a murder. The ghost uses beautifully illustrated cards to give visions. It feels like Dixit with more structure.

I am just disappointed they didn’t point out the probable booger in her nostril. I could be that her inner nose is oddly reflective, but either way I could not stop looking at it the entire video.

I mean Reese took a photo in front of a Christmas tree in some parking lot (you can see in the ornaments). Was she even trying to fake it being her tree?

There was actually an episode of Freakenomics that discussed the trend towards bland food in America. I pasted the link below. If you don’t feel like reading or listening to if all, you can search the page for ‘Eating on the Wild Side’ to get to the relevant portion.

I think your vocabulary is getting a bit muddled here. To be precise, male/female refers to biological sex, while man/woman refers to gender (how you fit in the man/woman categories of behavior and preferences). For many people, these are highly correlated, but for others gender does not match sex.
One thing I find

Well, just add in the time it takes to get decent representatives in. Lots of places have them, and maybe one day wherever you live can too! :)

Anyway, I do think it’s better to get this kind of legislation at the state or federal level. You certainly can’t have a substantially different tipping culture between, for

Thanks... Sometimes I have a hard time interpreting the snark, online but IRL too.

I hope you’re not mistaking my comment for meaning that I think we should tip shittily because culture can change. To me, it’s really depressing to think that we are stuck with a system that exploits workers and makes customers uncomfortable. Your message above expressed such hopelessness that the tipping system could

Tipping culture has shifted from standard 15% to 20% over the past 15 years and I theorize that has been in response to stagnating worker wages. I therefore estimate that we can shift down tips by 1% per three years in response to rising worker wages. So I guess we can eliminate obligatory tipping in 60 years if the

It can be solved with decent minimum wages and time for the culture to change in response.
