I think the tips greater than 15% are regional and related to the minimum wage. There are lots of states with minimum wages between 2-3$/hour. In those places, I try to tip >18% because a larger percentage of the server’s wage is coming from tips. In places with decent minimum wage, I go for 15%.

I recently screwed this up and have been thinking about your question for a while. My conclusions so far are that you have to think of how you want your days to be, where you can find jobs you can live with, where you will fit in, and where the people you love are(all those studies say long, close friendships are

I wish she would too. I think she has the right to, and I wish she would hammer home the point that women are not culpable for men’s actions.
That said, I understand her behavior. Maybe she genuinely loves him or maybe she and Bill have an agreement to always support each other in this way. If she’s no longer running

Suppose you have two students (Jamie and Drew) running for student life (SL) treasurer. Jamie has past experience but Drew is super popular. The student governments in which Jamie has taken part have been decidedly mediocre and many claim that Jamie helped select boring dance themes in the past.
Suppose Drew wins and

Heh. I consider her pretty average as far as American politicians go. Anyway, I think the presidential candidates as individuals are far less important than the policies of the parties they stand for. GOP politicians regularly promote polices that do not treat women as humans, capable of independent, rational thought.

It’s pretty easy when both are shit but one of them does not consider women to be fully human.

A stadium worker noticed that games were poorly attended by short people. When they alerted their boss and suggested providing boxes, the boss agreed, wanting a new revenue stream. When workers distributed the boxes to people based on height at a recent game, a riot of 6' people formed, demanding their own boxes.

I think it’d be helpful to think of this in analogy to adult ballet classes. They put minimum ages on them because normal ballet classes are generally filled with children, which makes adults uncomfortable in them. Moreover, adults and children need different styles of ballet instruction, so adults are poorly served

This article finally explains why there is very little overlap between the food I had in Cuba (went as Canadian tourist years ago) and the food I’ve seen in American Cuban restaurants. Thanks!

Exactly. I’ve had similar arguments that typical action and superhero movies are no less trashy than typical romance movies and faced the ‘but fantasies about power are clearly better than fantasies about love...’

Reading this thread, I just don’t get why the fact that Kim broke into fame via a sex tape matters.

I’m also from Canada, but I think one of the reasons our political parties screw us over less than American governments screw their people over is exactly because we have multiple parties.

And the lack of sun for, like, 6 months every year.

Yup. I’ve got mad empathy skillz.

I also just wanted my Sims to be happy. Sometimes, I’d accidentally make them rush to work without heading to the washroom and they’d pee themselves while walking into the house and I felt really really bad whenever that happened!

And yet there are multiple commenters arguing that the show is merely fiction and none of this could ever happen in America. It appears that this is the coverage people need. >.<

  • First of all, what is your favorite grocery store? My all-time favorite is Coop in Switzerland since they had great prices and produce. I also generally love small, sketchy mom-and-pop grocery stores that are full of fruit and veggies. HMart is my favourite US chain.

My theory is that beating Thanos will depend on Stark, and he would have been dusted without the deal that Strange made. Strange chose the one scenario where Thanos ends up in a state to make that deal. If they don’t get very close to taking the gauntlet off, Thanos confidently tosses the deal aside and gets the stone

Although I’m not an aerospace expert, I’m a control engineer, which means I study how to make things do what we want them to. Maybe you are too, given your username? If not, the controller is the system that takes in commands from the pilot and outputs engine speeds, aileron positions, etc... In theory, a control

I think you need to watch some Korean dramas. Your suggestion was pretty much implemented in the first two I watched.
