Actually, it sounds like Dems are trying to do the exact same thing the GOP did, especially the “move hard right” step that you mentioned. You’re totally right. The NFL is catering to the obsessives and the gamblers who want there to always be a game on, and in the process throwing out a lot of what made it special. NFL Sunday used to be an Event. They’re turning themselves into a niche sport.
