Honestly, with the replies I’m getting you’d think I was best friends with this guy or that I was bestowing an award upon him. A shitbird did a bad, racist, evil thing, sounded 1% less evil than I expected after he was caught, and I expressed my surprise at that. Suddenly I’m the grand wizard of the KKK now.

Otherwise a miserable, disastrous presidency, but his administration was very pro-immigration and even fairly enlightened on illegal immigration (compared to other Republicans). I wish I was as idealistic as he is. If I had to endure 1/10th of the hatred that was targeted at him the past 9 years (and counting) I’d probably curl up and die. He’s a tough dude with a huge heart.

There’s always been a nihilistic streak to humanity. Now it’s been organized and weaponized and directed against the institutions that make America function. The people at the head of this are some of the most evil leaders we’ve ever had.

One of my failings is that I’m so eager to see good in people I sometimes see it when it’s not there.

Also, immigration is one of the primary drivers of GDP growth in the U.S. Impede it and you’re pretty much begging for a recession.

I seem to be getting responses as if I defended this guy. His actions are indefensible. I guess I was just too quick to see a sign of hope that this one racist turd was slightly less proud of his racism than the other racist turds have been lately.
