There is likely to be a re-cut of this soon with more of the historic footage.

Definitely a justified concern. I had the system entirely gone through on the 2013 record run and on the S55 we used in last year’s 2904. Of course, right now each of them needs about $4k worth of misc. suspension work. Living up to the reputation.
Thank you.
Thank you. He certainly was.
The 32 hours 7 minutes documentary is the best information publicly available. The US Express was run from 80-83 and the best time was 32:07 by David Diem and Doug Turner in a Ferrari 308. Diem still owns the car.
Thanks Red. Since the EIS was the one the car originally came with, after the physical repair there was no programming necessary. This is all well beyond my own abilities but Klink is the man. My understanding is that the keys can only be programmed once and it does require a dealer visit.
Much appreciated. Thank you.
It does, as ridiculous as it sounds. The budget of what is counted in the $2,904 includes both items so off the shelf pricing, even at dealer cost, was not an option. Klink sourced both. I cannot remember if the air filters were out of a car that was crashed or had an intake warranty claim that included filters but…
Incredibly, that is far from the worst Carfax I have seen.
Yes, because you are just duplicating the pump time, not the rest of a stop. The locating a station, finding a pump, authorizing the credit cards, waiting for a receipt (documentation), etc. are all completely wasted. It essentially makes the “second” stop twice as efficient. In this case, we were really getting 3…
Yes. I am. I certainly don’t have the room for another car but once you do a drive like this in one, you really can’t part with it. I split my daily driving between it, the CL55 from the 2013 run, and my LP640.
Yes. Some great stuff - 2 incredible Crown Vics with similarly sordid pasts, a 180k mile CLK430, a 260k mile salvage SC400, an Oldsmobile Silhouette Van dresses as the Starship Enterprise, a bright orange RV, and a Cadillac dressed in Medical Courier livery. Amazing group.
Thank you!
Actually the dealership where I worked at the time - Lamborghini Atlanta/Motorcars of Georgia.
Thank you.
Good catch. Got duplicated when I reformatted the table.
Suspension works as safety in Lemons, Chump car, etc. Fuel cell is safety within the rules only because it is an area where they don’t want people cutting costs.
Probably, but the purchase price, gas, food, tolls, non-safety repairs, etc. had to be less than $2,904 so it had to be very rough and broken to satisfy the parameters of the challenge.
It was $600 and then the truck driver lost the key so I deducted the $275 key cost from there.
