Yeah, boxing can be a lot of fun. But there are certainly smarter and healthier ways to get some exercise in.

Ah, no. I didn’t take it that way at all. I really appreciated your response. I was just clarifying more for myself what my reasoning is for watching these kinds of sports, or someone who might be reading who doesn’t understand that there’s more to it than bloodlust. Although, yeah, we’d all be lying if we said that

Is there a moral choice in sports at this point?

Yeah. Good points. I’ve always justified my own macabre voyeurism re: bloodsports with the “autonomous” argument that the participants tend to be fairly fully funtioning adults making relatively informed decisions about their participation. Hell, if I had been more talented, I would’ve also probably attempted to go

Moments like this fight make me wish I had gotten into, I don’t know, golf at an early age instead of wrestling/boxing/MMA. That the appeal of the crank of the club against the ball, the smell of freshly cut/watered grass, and sunny days won out. Instead, I fell in love with sports that tenderize their participants

Yeah, a lot of minority literature expresses viewpoints and experiences I already have, and often times they echo conversations I have with relatives and other minorities, so a lot of it is simply redundant for me. At least that’s the best guess I can muster.

He is a troll, but he’s not necessarily wrong.

I mean, it’s weird, though. I’m a person of color and my personal “canon” (ugh) is pretty homogenous. It’s almost all white males. I respect many works of minority authors, they just don’t tend to be works I return to or which had an extensive influence over my personal, day-to-day perspective.

Right. The current economic model in this country is actually Feudal Capitalism. Not Capitalism. So sometimes when people see actual capitalism in work--generally with how unions do business--they assume it’s socialistic.

Neither Obama nor Trump had done anything either.

Well, personally, I never trust a prosecutor. But that’s just me.

People usually attribute this sort of thing to “cognitive dissonance” but it’s more confirmation bias. People remember anything that supports what they want to believe and ignore everything else.

Beto can beat him. If Beto can get that close to swinging Texas, he can just about do anything.

Yeah, that’s why all the news organizations need to take a large portion of the blame for his presidency. If they would’ve just ignored his dumb ass, we probably wouldn’t be here. He wasn’t even a “serious” contender until every news outlet began airing all his rants.

That was a great Lakers team. Kobe, Gasol, Odom, Ariza, Bynum etc. And the Nugs kept up every step of the way, battling both that great team and the refs. It was a series of close games, and the reffing swung game 1 which the Lakers won by a shot or two. I can’t remember right off if it was game 3 or game 5, but every

He was always an Iso gunner. It’s just that he was better then and it was still acceptable to be an iso gunner at that time. Honest Denver fans knew he wasn’t the guy to get us near a championship. The closest they came was when they got Billups and he spread the offense a bit, and convinced Carmelo to at least play

Right, the issue with mental health care in this country (and in general) is access and cost. There are severely mentally ill people in many places in this country that literally have no resources that address their needs. There have been times where I have attempted to hospitalize a client, not because I feared they

Not really.

As a mental health professional I agree that mental healthcare is lacking in this country.

I’ve never had a “refractory” period. Sometimes I can even have more than one orgasm.
