Whoa. I kind of felt he made the best Mission Impossible film. I also liked the hell out of the first NuTrek...while acknowledging that nothing can hold a candle to Classic Trek.

I love how every headline has “shit” or “dumb” or “bullshit” or some such hyperbole now. Thanks, guys.

Robin Williams?

Welcome to the Internet.

Are we really mad about this still?

Yes. The answer is yes.

I must chime in too. You can’t go wrong reading the book. Beautiful, intense, and moving.

Is it bad now? I didn’t get the memo.

I can’t believe the rage over all this. I watched it, was moderately entertained, shrugged and thought, “meh, that’s the Walking Dead.” THEN I MOVED ON WITH MY LIFE.

I’m not getting io9's thing about this. They don’t look very different from any other CGI talking animals we’ve seen.

B...better than Last Crusade? Oh dear, oh dear...

Someone spent time writing this article, and I spent time reading it. It's a lose lose.

I’m sorry, no. The elements you mention are subtext, and it’s what makes the characters and plot so meaningful. We’re so used to sloppy storytelling now that we think subtext is just plot and vice versa. It’s not.

I always thought Darkness Falls was considered one of the classic episodes. I loved it.

OR change it to a design the better reflects the real events. Where’s the problem?

Jedi and Awakens should swap places, then you’re all set.

Alas, ‘twas just a joke, sir.

I was joking, making fun of that embarrassing scene. Talk about straining a metaphor, Anakin. Sheesh.

He didn't co-write the script but he does have a story credit, which means he helped contribute an outline.

It sounds to me like you enjoy them, which is great. I wish I had liked them more. That said, the general consensus is that they're not well-regarded. Do some people like them? Sure! I think they're aging pretty badly so the dislike will only continue.
