Here’s the thing- isn’t it nice for there to be a female hero who is perfect? No one complains about Captain America being too perfect or Superman (Christopher Reeves version, of course). Basically, Cameron is mad people don’t care about Sarah Connor as much as they used to.

And yet, unlike watching Avatar, I never felt like Wonder Woman the movie thought I was an idiot.

Or that being a “beauty icon” precludes a character from being anything else.

I do agree with his description of Sarah Connor. But that’s just it WW is not Sarah Connor. That’s kind of like saying Superman should more like Batman.

Uh...This is coming from a dude who used tribal aliens as a metaphor for human race relations.

Gettin’ real tired of old white men telling me what is and isn’t feminist, in general.

This wasn’t James Cameron’s hill to die on. He might even have a point, but it just can’t come from an old white guy. Especially when the movie was directed by a woman, and was very well received by women at the box office.

Same for looks... Being beautiful automatically means she’s a bad character. Obviously women aren’t diverse beings that can relate to audiences on different levels from film to film... And not strong? Come on!

Also, I’m really glad that I have Kathryn Bigelow’s ex husband around to weigh in on the idea that a landmark achievement by a woman director is overblown.

“Yeah, I cheated on my then-wife with Linda Hamilton, but she’s no beauty.”

Sarah Connor was also played by Linda Hamilton, who Cameron dated, married and then divorced after meeting Suzy Amis on the set of Titanic.

For Your Consideration: Wonder Woman was Never Feminist, thoughts from a man who keeps marrying lookalike versions of each wife at younger and younger ages, and didn’t think Sarah Connor would bother to wear a bra.

Also For Your Consideration: Is being an AVC Legacy Account user moved to Kinja like Sarah Connor in

“Wonder Girl, there are some TV dinners in the fridge that you can heat up. I’m going out to the Velvet Cowl for some drinks with Cat Man. Don’t wait up for me. Where are my cigarettes?”

Gettin’ real tired of old white men telling me that a female character has to be “troubled” to be strong...

Sarah Connor was not a beauty icon,” said Cameron. “She was strong, she was troubled, she was a terrible mother

You know what was an actual step backwards from Sarah Conner? Zoe Saldana’s character in Avatar. Get your shit together, Cameron.

Coming from the guy who designed blue cat people to be as fuckable as possible?

You’re in luck! Weinstein couldn’t cut him out of TULIP FEVER, coming next week! To be reviewed by me!!

My abiding love for Carly Rae will take me to some strange places.

Mister, if you think for one moment that the AV Club is going to ignore user input, then you... might actually have a point.
