I don’t know too much about that, so Ill take your word for it.

I think it is a bit unfair to apply the Alfa stigma from the 70's and 80's to a car that is pretty akin to everything else FCA makes nowadays. I mean, nobody applies the stigma the Audi’s had back in the day to them now. Modern cars do not have the same issues they had even 15 years ago, not that they do not have any

There’s an explanation as to why that is further up. Matsuda is the name of the founder, but the brand is apparently name after an ancient Persian deity called Mazda.

I still think one of these would be a really cool swap into a Saab Sonnet

1991 Mitsubishi Pajero

Accurate if you see the size of some of these “overlanding” rigs

Yeah, and they romanticize overlanding as if they’re modern day explorers, even though they have a $100k luxury condo with them.

You guys all, more or less, just described one of these. The designer obviously only had access to a ruler, It has an 8 3/4" front axle with a 9" full floater rear, 4.2 I6 diesel, 4.5 V8 twin turbo, or a 4.5 I6 gasser. Also comes in removable soft top/ hard top, 4 door station wagon, pickup or troop carrier. The truck

My friend who had a 90's Ram Cummins 5 speed, and would buy and sell what seemed like hundreds of cars. He’d buy complete piles, and dump them them in the auto shop lot to the teachers chagrin. At one point he bought three Dodge trucks for $100. He managed to flip just about everything though. He also welded up his

And engineering students can’t go five minutes without saying something to the tune of “LOL, my major requires 18 units every semester, I pull all nighters nightly. Feel sorry for me.”

Found it!

They actually made a 4WD Ranchero (Falcon Ute) in Australia and tested it with the Australian military I believe.

The US Hilux had IFS from the 4runner starting in 1986 until 1995. Honestly the Hi-Trac IFS is probably the best you can do instead of a solid axle, and it is very robust compared to the IFS that came on the Tacoma starting in 1996

To all the people complaining about no Jeep, they are building a Jeep TJ for the trip. For some reason they chose a 4.0L with an automatic that they will be shipping from Canada I think? Anyways, there will be a Jeep there.

I was just suggesting the Chaser because it reaaaalllly looks like a Camry of the same era

you better look up the Toyota Chaser

When I was in 8th grade (Sophomore in college now), my brothers were looking at Jeeps and Broncos to buy off craigs. At that time 60 and 80 series hadn’t been discovered yet and were reasonably priced and I kept trying to convince them that they were great trucks, but they didn’t listen to me because Jeeps and ‘roncos

Funny how a clean, low mileage, turbo diesel JDM 80 series can cost roughly the same, maybe slightly more than a 200k FZJ80. The era of “no low ballers, I know what I have!” for the 80 series is reaching the top of the bell curve here.
