No. When a single company is a major or the major employer in a community, it’s unsurprising for many members or generations of a family to work for that company.

Unless their parent was in a position to hire them or has the influence to guarantee that they’re hired, it’s not nepotism.

Are you trying to say that the Big 3 are justified in underpaying their employees?

It seems like German auto makers don’t have too much trouble working with IG Metall, the auto workers union there. Auto workers in Germany make, on average, 67.14 per hour (including pay, benefits, etc.) while US workers make $37.77 per hours. And the German companies make more cars.

LOL! YOU couldn’t even do half the jobs in the factories.

exactly but the anti-union people just offer one or two examples to condemn every union for all time.

What is this healthcare you speak of? Millions of American have none. Millions of working Americans. They can’t even afford AMA.

There’s lots of adult jobs a 12 year old could do, but what’s your point, they shouldn’t be paid well to do them then? Also I think you’re wrong and don’t understand the demands of the job, it would be considered at least dangerous and at most cruel to have a 12 year old do them. Either you read the article and think

WTF are you going on about? The UAW is trying to build people up, the car companies sure as hell aren’t.

Move to Bama and work for a Hyundai tier one then.

Yep, just take a quick look at the wage gap between regular workers and the executives, now vs 10, 20, 30 years ago and its eye opening how much everyone is getting screwed for the greed of a very small few.

I’m worried about all these people breaking their backs being left with nothing while Ford gets richer and richer.

Yeah the workers have been screwed. Huge corporate profits. $32.00 a hour is dirt. So is 78K a year with overtime. Same with the tiered and no pension, more de evolution and yes screw the excessive greed of the C- suite sapsuckers. Surprised that the other strike article had so many tool comments favoring the

You mean the man who didn’t have a gun and was killed in cold blood? GTFO racist.

Police actually did just cite his mother about a year before this incident. She handled the situation slightly better by actually identifying herself (though not with a drivers’ license) and didn’t pull a gun from its holster during the encounter.

Agreed. That's a impound the vehicle, contact someone to pick you up or take you to the station situation. Expired plates are one thing, this guy was clearly having a "I am above the law!" Moment.

If he doesn’t expect to have the rules apply to him, then the rules about his rights don’t apply to him either. These people are at best anarchists and are awfully close to insurrectionists. Penalty for treason is death.

My thought is that cops should never fire the first shot. Not a perfect solution, but takes away a lot of the grey area. Would this make it more dangerous to be a police officer? Probably, but the fact is cops kill ~6 times as many people annually as the number of cops killed on duty. Pay them more for the risk, but

This went down the way it needed to. I am normally very critical of any killing at the hands of police but in this case it’s pretty black & white. This “Sovereign Citizen” was the aggressor and earned his Darwin award, full stop.
