A big issue was the promise of a $40k base version at launch that never materialized. I would’ve been a buyer for one of those, but just like the 24k Maverick, they don't actually exist.
As per the Coast Guard earlier this evening, the company will not be footing the bill, of course.
I almost forgot that temp plates were still a thing in MD. Every car I’ve purchased in MD (5 since 2011) came with a permanent plate straight from the dealer. Every dealer that I’ve gone to was able to complete registration onsite. So much more convenient than the process was in NJ.
That’s actually a lot better than I would have expected. They want $10k on top of a $24k Maverick where I live. I'll buy one when people finally stop giving into this nonsense.
Instead of incentives, how about just knocking it off with the markup nonsense?
I see Ford is getting in on the ”market adjustment” nonsense, too. I guess I’d prefer the MSRP going up rather than getting surprised when you look at the dealership.
The Soul is a great option. The latest gen is surprisingly comfortable and not slow at all.
In all fairness, the linked Carfax article doesn't divulge their method of calculation either.
You’re going to want something better than GPS. Civilian GPS is only accurate to about 4.9m (about 16ft) radius.
That’s how averages work.
I think the more concerning thing that ChatGPT has brought to the forefront is how confident an AI system will appear, even when it’s 100% wrong about something.
It may be that you’re just used to the light amount of power. I owned a 2011 brand new with the 5 speed. I loved that little car, but it had nothing down low. It could get out of it’s own way if you stayed on it, and it had really fun handling characteristics for a FWD car. You could get the back end to slide a bit…
It’s quite a compelling package, but I wish it looked less like a jacked up Scion TC.
Aren’t most hydrogen vehicles essentially an EV that's powered by a hydrogen fuel cell?
It looks like what a Telsa would be if they actually updated their styling like a normal car company. I dig it. If I still can't get my hands on a hybrid Maverick when it's time for a new car, this is definitely an option.
And good forbid you had to drive a manual one with any amount of miles on it. It’s one of the few cases where a manual transmission is not an improvement on the driving experience. It was like schlubbing a ruler around through a bucket of molasses, sand, and razor blades.
The Kia is the better looking car, so you’re probably right.
The fastest way to put out an EV fire is actually to let it burn itself out. Water just slows the process by reducing the ambient temperature. Source: my wife is a firefighter and just took a class on this exact topic.
Ahh yes, the classic General Motors Mercury Cougar...
