Paying $25,000 for a vehicle with over 100,000 miles is insane.

Then he is either visiting the drag strip on the way or had to charge it full before he returned it. At 70mph, 3.5 hours is 245 miles. A Model 3 even if abused needs a single charge at most to clear that.
Fortunately the 10 year figure is just misinformation. Tesla vehicles have an 8 year warranty on the battery that guarantees that it will have 70% life remaining. I think it’s obvious to say that a battery with 70%+ life after 8 years should in the vast majority of cases still continue to be good only 2 years later…
Bolts got discontinued because they were catching on fire lol
You don’t have any existing outlets in your garage? Even a 15a 120V outlet will get you 5-6 miles each hour.
This is changing next year. You’ll be able to assign the tax credit to the dealership and it will end up effectively being a point of sale rebate.
“I saw broken down EV’s and that allows me to draw conclusions about EV’s in general” is a stupid take.
So,... if that’s the definition you want to use for “obsolete”, who gives a shit if something is obsolete? Your definition is “still perfectly functional, but not the best in the market”... If it met your needs when you bought it, and your needs haven’t changed, the fact that there are other, better products out there…
Few things I hate about this mentality:
THIS. As much as I dislike the Musk, his pricing strategy keeps him ahead of the other makes. Tesla was smart enough to know that the cheeseballs the work at stealerships for all of the other brands are greedy MFers. They’re going to mark up and bilk their customers for as much as they can, and to everyone that’s…
“This isn’t about all EVs. It’s about non-competitive EVs piling up at dealers.”
This isn’t about all EVs. It’s about non-competitive EVs piling up at dealers.
Friend. Ford and the rest required the dealers to make those investments as a prerequisit to offer electric vehicles: chargers, training, parts and so on. Sunk costs. Therefore your theory doesn’t exactly hold water.
Picked up 2 BOLTs this year. A 23 EUV with lots of options and it came with the 220v level 2 charge cable AND the option to have GM install a 220v outlet in our garage. Great deal + $7500 tax credit when we file next year so it will be around $25K (not counting taxes and registratino) - So good a deal I did it again…
What kind of electrical upgrades do you need? Technically you can charge on the existing 15 or 20 amp wall plug you very likely already have in there.
I believe all EV’s can charge using the standard 110v outlets. It’s just slower.
This. Car dealers don’t want EVs because they make most of their profit margin on service, not sales. They’re called stealerships for a reason - if they can’t overcharge the customer for something, or create a fault in some esoteric part of the suspension or drivetrain, they can’t make money. With EVs, the ability to…
It’s not really a secret that most car dealerships don’t actually like EVs. They need a lot less routine maintenance and repair than ICE vehicles which means dealers lose a lucrative source of revenue. They also require infrastructure that dealerships largely had to pay for. It’s not really a surprise that they are…
