S2000 broke my back

All the recent SUVs seem to be going with a more brutalist design. I wonder when the tipping point will be that it stops being a desirable trait (i.e. everything on the road has hard angles, so it stops looking cool/unique).

I couldn’t bring myself to drive a 991 Turbo in the snow. But an Audi TT-RS for sure.

It’s a stupid lifestyle car if you’re not using it offroad!

Find the nicest 5 year old Panamera you can get. S, GTS, or Turbo, it’ll handle whatever you want and be fun doing it. And they’ve proven to be very reliable so long-term should be a good bet even putting a lot of miles on.

ok, i dont really know how much these cost, but the panamera wagon would be cool. Maybe a used GTR since it’s awd. also, i think with a $125K budget, this guy probably shouldn’t be getting advice on jalopnik. lol

While it is great to look at and drive, I wonder about the long-term reliability of 30+ year old Audi performance vehicles.

Well with BMW, or other high strung luxury cars, it’s not the 4 years out you need to worry about it’s the 10 years out, the after the warranty expires part lol.  That’s when you are on the hook for what are typically, or have been in the past, very expensive repairs.

But then he’d have to look at that monstrosity every time he wanted to use it. A face even a mother can’t love.

that is a very good thing in my book.

Most people will be able to afford this just like a loaded Telluride and not having to spend over a 100G with a shit warranty and and reliability issues. Land Rover used to be about simplicity and affordability long ago. Now its just for lawyers and doctors

Like it or not, necessity is the mother of invention. That may mean things have to get worse in some ways before they get better.

We won’t have a choice. The big international companies are shifting to EVs across the other big markets in Asia and Europe, and the economies of scale just don’t make sense to keep on making ICE vehicles for the US market alone. We’ll be like England in the 70s and 80s with its highly idiosyncratic and antiquated

I bet you're especially excited for the dildo chair driver's seat option. The 4 incher they cast from Elon's own.

Stan as hard as you can, but the Cybertruck is still lame.

No we’ve learned how shitty Teslas are

It saves money upfront, but ask a DeLorean owner how they feel about it. Once you do any bodywork, it’s pretty much impossible to “blend.” If you see one polished like an Airstream or wearing paint, it was probably done to hide panel repair.

Welp, it looks like that ridiculously large- and doubtlessly expensive- wiper made it, the wing mirrors look reasonable. Only thing about which I have any concerns are whether or not they shoved bumpers on at either end. I suspect it’s got internal compression bumpers- or whatever the hell they are called.

If I recall one of the QA/QC issues Tesla had for a long time was paint. Which is why they made a big deal about their new paint shop at Giga Berlin. Maybe this was their way of “solving” that problem… no paint, no paint quality issues…. Genius!

they just don’t want the zip ties and what not to show up in the pictures.

So, am I the only one who is intensely annoyed that in a world with a finite supply of lithium and electronics components when ordinary people are struggling to afford an EV, companies are churning out Even More Expensive EVs that they can’t sell?
