It’s probably within the range of what these are selling for. Having said that, these things are going for way too much money. I’m expecting the inevitable Doug price bump to kick in as well. CP for basically any FJ at the current prices.

Not in the backseat of a GTR, unless they have no legs... Which if that is the case, I’m sorry for offending you.
Ugh. Why would mess with the suspension on one of these? The amount of engineering that went in to this car, and they go and mess it up with an air suspension.
I was okay with the cosmetic mods, although I doubt those wheels/tires are going to hold up to the lateral forces that this car generates. I didn’t really like…
Massive, ungainly, slow, cramped, no manufacturer support for unique bits, and 40 years old. For $30k?
I know it’s the being completely over-mentioned the past week or so, but the C8 basically eliminates 90% of the potential market for this. Why would you buy a 9 year old out of warranty Audi mid-engine V8 sports car, when you could buy a brand new 2020 C8 Corvette with warranty?
Regardless, I still don’t know who makes…
Seeing the poll now (ChromeBook, Chrome Browser).
NP 87% (582 votes)
CP 13% (87 votes)
as of 11:01AM EST
Where are these CP voters/commenters finding $1400 4WD/AWD manual SUVs that run/drive with no rust and clean title? You might not want it for your personal situation because it’s 2WD, but that doesn’t make it CP.
We finally have a potential 100% NP and the poll doesn’t work... Well played, Rob. Well played...
Isn’t that the one that everyone compared the Hyundai Tiburon to?
Rob: Here’s a truck with no engine that will be impossible to make road legal.
15% of Commenters: I see what you’re trying to do here, and I’m not falling for it, NP!
Everyone Else: *Slams head into desk
Who makes up the intended market for these 25+ year old uber-luxury cars? YouTubers and people who generally make poor life choices (also YouTubers) are the only people that I see being remotely interested in a car like this.
The big problem is this: If you have enough money to restore/maintain this thing, you would hav…
Hoovie, is that you?
Yeah, a sorted late 90's Accord, that will pass safety and emissions inspections (NE Maryland) will run you $3-4k private party, $4-5k dealer.
The pricing here is crazy. $10k puts you in something 5 years old that’s reliable, small, and basic with less than 60k miles. The drop off in quality for less $ than that is…
Depends on where you live. $1000 gets you a rusted out 90's Chrysler death trap that doesn’t run where I am.
Exactly. $1500 is beater car money. If it runs and drives, it’s NP. You drive it until it stops driving. If it cost more than a couple hundred bucks to fix, you scrap it and move on.
I’m getting 40+ mpg highway all day long with my 1.8T 6-speed auto (I know, I know, there were no manuals available within 500 miles and within $4k of the price I paid). So that range isn’t impossible.
Not sure how much you think these go for. I picked up mine for $17,900 brand new including tax and tags. You’re not getting in to a competitor for anywhere near that price; at least not in a new car.
Just bought a leftover 2018 Sportwagen... Love this car! Plenty of room, quick/sporty enough, but still comfortable and get 40mpg on the highway all day long. Of course they’re gonna kill it off.
Who is voting CP on this? It’s in good shape, manual, and it’s F-it money. At that price, if it runs and drives, and isn’t rusted out, it’s automatic NP.
All the “quality” and “craftsmanship” of a 2006 Colorado, without any of the utility a pickup brings to the table. CP when it was new, CP now.
