10 year old Ford SUV, cause let’s be honest, it’s not a pickup. At $10k it’s an alright deal, given the condition. But at this price, total CP.
Used Subaru = CP for me. They are always completely overpriced with ridiculous mileage. New Subarus are typically good value for money, but for some reason their owners feel like depreciation doesn’t apply to them. They’re pretty reliable, but no more than a Toyota or a Honda.
Not a great price, but not ridiculous either. About what I'd expect to see a dealer selling this for, which is higher than I’d pay for a 15 year old used car with 160k on the clock. Meh.
Or you could find one that’s already had it addressed, with documentation of course.
No such thing as a cheap Porsche... You’d be better off buying a newer one with less mileage, and no bearing issues, instead. By the time you restore this one, you’re definitely into that price range.
It was a terrible car back then, and it’s even more terrible today. Not rare, not special, terrible to drive, no thanks. CP at any price over $3k.
Three words: CarMax extended warranty.
Makes zero sense at that price... Starting at $40k you’d have something, but at 50+, why would you?
“I have issues with my masculinity, so I have to vote CP to prove that I’m a MAN! Cause scooters aren’t manly, but I am, right? RIGHT? Someone please tell me I’m manly, PLEASE?”
The fact that it runs and drives makes this an easy NP. The fact that it’s a turbo wagon is just gravy...
Agree about everyone always comparing NPoCP cars to whatever newer/better car is in the same price range. It’s about whether or not the price is good for someone that actually wants that model. If someone is planning on buying a Ferrari, they’re not cross shopping Corvettes.
At this price it needs to have at least 2 of 3 things, preferably all 3:
Might be my location, but you can’t get anything in reasonable shape with that few miles for under $10k, especially not a Merc roadster. Boxster with under 60k is probably twice this price.
Yes, it’s basically a Crossfire with a Smurf skin interior... but it’s low mileage with a manual. You’ll be spending some coin on maintenance for sure, but stick roadster!
RVs are ridiculously priced in general, especially considering that most are essentially custom vehicles with not much real r&d behind them. I don’t get it, but people do seem to like these kinds of things, and they like to blow stupid amounts of money on them, often well into six figure territory.
Wouldn’t a manual probe be more satisfying?
Bed liner paint job? Instant CP on anything over $4k. Function over aesthetics is fine if you're not asking for collectible level money.
Ford Escape with one of the turbo motors for that bill almost exactly. Only thing I’m not sure about would be the ground clearance.
It’s a high five figure price, so half of the voters will vote CP by reflex. But they’d be wrong.
