I have a 2017 GTI Sport, and would ABSOLUTELY buy a GTE when my ‘17 is used up. It’s a great car, and if the GTE is as similar as they’re saying, but I can get a 20-30 mile range out of the electric motor, that’s a winner right there. I thought the GTI and R were the only ones we’re getting though?

It’s hard to justify a Jeep when it plays in the half ton market price-wise, especially at the higher trim level when you can get a Ram Rebel for 7k under MSRP our the door, WITH California taxes.

I get your point about it being unnecessary (if I didn’t tow regularly, I’d probably have a large sedan or an EV), and though I don’t own an SUV per sey, I fail to see why a truck/SUV gets a bad rap. If I owned say, a CTS-V Wagon with a manual or an E63 AMG Wagon (that both cost more and gets worse mileage than my

I’ve got a ‘19 Crew Cab Ram, ‘17 GTI Sport, and a Corvette. Just about anyone can fit in those cars. Add a backwards facing child seat (or two) and the GTI just got way smaller. I have to sit really close to the steering wheel in the GTI and I’m 5'9". If I have to bring luggage, strollers, playpens, etc. on a trip,

I gave up my 2010 Triumph Street Triple when I had a kid (I still ride dirtbikes). I’m considering the Bronx depending on the price point. Dad has a 100th anniversary Wide Glide that I’d like, but the traditional HD’s don’t appeal to me. I’m likely the market that HD is after with that bike (33 y/o “Middle Class”

It’s all the same block, bored and stroked . The Hemi 5.7L, 6.4 and 6.2 Supercharged are similar to LT1/4/5 in that respect. I believe the Mopars are all iron block (the Hellephant is aluminum apparently). My point is that the GM engines are siginificantly more advanced and still batsh*t crazy for power.

Where’s the 750+ hp LT5 and E888? There’s a reason they’re so common. I also thought the supercharged w/ turbo Volvo engines were a pretty cool concept too.

Got my license on my 16th Birthday (33 now) and got my Permit on my 15th (used to be allowed in CA). My parents logic was that they wanted me to drive for as long as possible before turning me loose, and taught me (and my two other siblings) on a 4x4 Suburban, figuring if we could handle that, we could drive anything.

Hard Pass. There will be like 3 dudes who want one, but want someone else to buy it new and sell it to them in 7-10 years.  Manufacturers don’t set out to build low selling cult cars for second hand markets.

Who told you they “handle poorly?” That hasn’t been the case since the C3.

LS1/LS6 came with a transaxle in the C5. It can be done for sure, but not with the OEM C5 stuff.

1993-1996 6 speeds are the ONLY acceptable C4s (All from those years had either the LT1 or LT4)

It barely works with backwards facing car seats, I know, I’ve got a ‘17 Sport and I can’t sit in the passenger seat without hitting my knees. I’m 5'9", so not that tall.

It’s not even close.  The Ram is nicer than most luxury cars.  I drove the Rebel and Trail Boss back to back, and there is a 0% chance I can live with the interior of the Chevy for the same price or more.

For me, it’s the interior. The Trail Boss and the Rebel are the same price, but there is absolutely no way I can spend the same money and get the GM interior. It absolutely is a deal breaker. This coming from someone who has always bought GM up until the last few years.

I’m in Los Angeles, within 100 miles there are ~2100 F150s, ~210 are v8s. 10 are 4x4 Lariats and 1 is a Platinum (Not a single King Ranch and I guess the Limited isn’t offered with a V8). There are a crapton of V6s. Maybe it’s the cost of fuel here contributing to that and the Ecoboost being marketed as more

There are 10 total 4x4 F150 Lariats with a V8 within 100 miles of me. Most of them are white. All but 2 have chrome bumpers. There is one nice black one like 90 miles away. The dealers around here also mark everything up over sticker.

I’ve yet to see a platinum with a V8. Loaded Lariat V8 4x4 tend to be unicorns. I can find XLT trim V8s, but I'm not looking for an XLT.

Exactly!

I don’t like any of the trucks more than the other enough to pay sticker. If you take one off the lot, you get (in many cases) a massive discount. I don’t like the F150 $7-10k more than I like the equivalent Chevy or Ram. ALl things equal, I’d probably have a Ford, but they cost more to begin with than the equivalent
