People are dumb. Emotions get involved. You’d be amazed at how little prepared the average person is when they buy a car. I sold cars for awhile, I never did anything shady but I could convince almost anyone they needed a new F-150 and how they could swing the monthly. People only care about the monthly.

I’m guessing 0% of the people in this situation read The Wall Street Journal.

That’s the problem, you can get a bigger, more capable truck for the same money. There were plenty of Gladiators at the local Jeep dealership for well into the $50k range. That’s 3/4 ton truck money. I love the idea of a Wrangler pickup priced to compete with midsize offerings, not so much priced against 1/2 to 3/4

This one is tough to me. Very few people would really use the full merits of an SUV on a regular basis unless they were essentially a school bus. I know my family got plenty of use out of our old Durango when my brother and I were kids and we played hockey and had bags full of gear.

“in a market that can’t get enough of big and stupid SUVs."

1) Battery refurbishing or reprocessing

2) Barring that, it’s better that the waste go into a landfill, which is sequestered from our environment, than our atmosphere.

I mean, you could search and find out pretty good studies that take this into account for a total life cycle analysis. In the end, it ends up being a case of if you value total green house emissions vs land fill & recyclability vs total energy consumption. Electric cars come out ahead for emissions (even if your power

Those old farts had their toys, I have mine. I bet that they would have shut up faster if they were within a mile of my place.

Harley Davidson will always have their old school fans and buyers. They are a lifestyle brand, their products fit a look and image they have cultivated for decades.

If you put that line into a larger quote about Elon Musk I would completely believe it was real. All you have to do is filter Vito Corleone through a traumatic brain injury and you're there.

The whole shtick about Edison inventing anything is questionable. He was a thief and a liar that rise to fame through the innovation of others, and defamation of his competition.

I don’t mean to be a pedantic dick here, but that whole schtick about Edison inventing the light bulb is questionable.

That and health care. And better odds of making a living wage. Affordable housing for people who need it. Free buses.

Yea, and the government sends blue federal taxes to prop up red states that don't tax enough

That’s because people who live in blue states tend to expect more from their governments, and someone has to subsidize those red state moochers.

I think the EA888 shoud’ve made this list for hitting a sweet spot between power and efficiency and the simple ubiquitous influence

This whole story needs an LS swap!!

Nah, Sorry.

The LT1 isn’t on this list, therefore it is invalid.

counterpoint: do a cargo van version and get in the fight with the Tranist Connect, Ram ProMaster City, and Nissan NV200 (do they still make that one?)
