My buddies and I have these same backplate in different colors and that metal plate is just bad design. While it does lead to cooler temperature, they didn’t plan for (or care) that plate expands from the heat faster than the plastic that is holding it leading to cracks around it. I agree that the vitriol is mostly unwarranted, but the state of the game is far from fine. They've been phoning it in for ages now. And PvP folks have been completely ignored for ages.

I hate the power that the toxic, vocal Destiny minority seems to have. The state of the game was fine (which was mostly the opinion of popular streamers like Datto), and at worst just kinda “meh.” It doesn’t deserve even a fraction of the hate that’s been spewed at it by the usual self-important, armchair developers…

you can also skip it and still use steam. just add “—skip-launcher” to the launch options 

Just avoid the Steam forums for now. This is another game where the alt-right trolls are mad at it. Very toxic on the forums right now. Anti LGTBQ+ stuff. Racial stuff. Being mad because none of the NPCs are “Hot”(aka big breasted aryan bimbos).

So, you can actually just skip the launcher by using the main folder instead of Steam, so that’s not a big deal; and while it’s true this is DS2 in DnD form, the DnD systems work a LOT better than the DS2 one for combat.
