I have developer friends who tell me that, since there’s always something to do, when something just “works” at the minimum required spec, they leave it at that and move on to the next requirement. So yes, they’re lazy

THIS!
Its a long standing tradition here, going back to when AV Club had its own video game-dedicated offshoot The Gameological Society that developed a dedicated commenter community. No one’s making you read them.
I’m ambivalent about whether I’ll like this or not. I’ve kinda grown weary of the “map game”, unless it really double-downs on crafting story and meaningful quests/missions, like The Witcher 3 (not that there aren’t also time-killer, rubber-stamp quests in that game, too). I don’t want another Skinner box to…
Is anyone thrown off by Lily’s bad acting? Maybe it’s because she’s not used to a starting role but it’s hurting my enjoyment of the show.
Thanks for keeping What Are You Playing This Weekend alive, Will! As for what I’m playing:
I recently dusted off my old copy of Brütal Legend and installed it on my Xbox One. It had been ten years. I wasn’t even sure if it was backwards compatible. I almost forgot how much fun and engaging the story was and the uniquely inspired art and character design.
Hey Gameologiroos! Hope you’ve all been good. It’s been months since I last posted here. Bunch of reasons, mostly work-related, including my boss deciding, unconscionably, he wasn’t going to work from home on Fridays for a while.
I’ve been completing something I never did the first time around: tackling levels from Pistol Start and collecting observations on how that changes the game, along with general musings on level design. These are Postcards From Doom 2.
I still contend Hereditary was complete schlock disguised as a dark horror movie, and was done completely intentionally.
I’ve never played role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons and would dearly love to try them, but the fact that I am the only person in my limited social circle who thinks this way is a little bit of an impediment.
I face the same problem with board games. I can corral some co-workers who are into it for a session of Scythe once every two months but my close group of friends aren’t so keen on it. Or should I say, one isn’t and because we always do everyone together (it would be pretty cruel not to invite him so we can play board …
I have been accruing mass lately with having given up working out at the gym and no more MMA classes, so I’ve been using that as a great excuse to play more Beat Saber. I’m a very sweaty person and just throwing the PSVR headset on makes me sweaty, so adding in laborious swinging gets me drenched by the time I’m done…
Beat Saber is great! I already beat the campaign, so I’m now trying to clear the trophies by first Full Comboing all the songs on hard. Not too hard honestly, but I’m definitely worried about getting SS on Expert and even just getting a full combo on one of those bad boys.
Salutations~!
Ha, even the title takes a second to get to the point, I love it.
That’s a great condensation of what makes the game so great. I’m pretty sure Cull (laser beam?) was always in my best loadouts too, and if Void is that multiplier then I think I got about the same one.
The Ping-central attack Duwease mentioned, I tried as well but didn’t find it as satisfying as the stacked attacks.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I know what my title would be if I did have a book: Stay With Me!—I SWEAR My Point’s Coming Soon... One Gamer’s Heartfelt Ramblings About How Games Changed His Life.
Salutations~!
What Did You Finish This Week?
(sorry Chum, I gotta run and wanted to post my mini-review)
