Agreed on Bound. It’s actually really REALLY pretty in VR, but there’s just.. so little going on. It’s not a platformer (but it is a little), it’s not a ‘walking simulator’ (but it is a little)... none of it really landed for me.

DA: I can definitely bog down in pointless open-world bleh if you let it. Search for real, plot-related sidequests only, and you won’t miss anything that you’ll actually miss.

Hopped back on the Knockout League train and managed to finally perfect Sir Octopunch and move on to the Iron Maiden. I was expecting an easier fight, as once you figure out the raised tentacles move it’s not so bad on Normal, but on Grudge he’s a different beast altogether (har har). The extended camoflauge is bad

This. I really wish Sony would get someone else to write these sorts of games. A Telltale game, given a huge budget so that choices actually matter?!?! TAKE MY MONEY. The right releases could make ‘interactive movies’ a whole new sub-genre.

But unfortunately David Cage always gets the funding, and David Cage is a

Agreed.. the portrayal of Roseanne on the show is much like people I actually know. I actually appreciate the portrayal as a somewhat accurate one of a type of person that’s almost entirely unrepresented on TV right now.. the same subtleties of character and conflicts in word and deed that some people write off as

And now no evil Aubrey Plaza, which is practically a crime :(

That’s pretty brilliant (although mechanically difficult to follow through with), and would definitely solve the player/character divide.

I actually enjoyed the twist.. not from a plot perspective (because it was absurd to think the police would be OK with a plan where one of their own seriously injures and probably

Even as a Platinum connoisseur, I usually start on Easy to get the hang of the mechanics for the first three levels or so. Then once it ‘clicks’ I start over with Normal. The games tend to ramp up too quickly otherwise.

POGO has really come into its own with interesting stuff in the last few months. Far more to do than there used to be. Try and find a Discord in your area for raid groups.. really helps catching those legendaries! And don’t forget to grab a shiny Charmander or special move Charizard during Community Day tomorrow.

Yeah, Skyrim takes an hour or so of getting used to if you elect to use motion controllers (although you can always just use a regular controller if you don’t mind losing the immersion of firing bows and physically swinging swords and blocking with a shield). Not the best game to drop someone into as a demo. Haven’t

Just finished Oxenfree, and it.. was acceptable. I played it in short sessions across many weeks, which may have affected my ability to pick up on story subtleties, but it just seemed a bit too vague. Maybe I didn’t collect enough side things, but I am still pretty vague on exactly what the plan was that I was foiling

Yeah, I faintly remember some archer skill being critical in murderizing mages right away who resisted crowd control.

Y’know, I really enjoyed DA1 on Nightmare, and I’m kinda bummed the combat got progressively more boring. DA2 wasn’t too bad, but it had random mob pop-ins.. DA:I just bumped up the enemy HP to where

Yeah, the cultists are one of the parts I remember being rough on Nightmare. It’s been forever, but I recall that investing in as much crowd control stuff as possible (sleep, fear, etc) and having a fighter kite the rest was the key to most difficult mob fights.

Yes, it’s easy to bounce off of Revengeance, as it is with most Platinum games, but once you figure out its gameplay it’s an absolute blast. And full of the requisite Platinum insanity, mixed with Metal Gear insanity, just.... yum.

Great, now I have the Junes song stuck in my head, probably all day.

Yeah, the Nier intro area makes a big design mistake, IMO — I don’t mind being thrown into the thick of things in a Platinum game, but HAVE REASONABLE CHECKPOINTS. The beginning of the game is not the time for a gauntlet.. it’s a time for learning.

Luckily you can fluidly change difficulty, so there’s no shame in

Playing a little Oxenfree here and there, which I got free from Twitch Prime from having an Amazon Prime account. Left the Adler estate and am doing.. something.. I forget. It’s been awhile since I saw the part where they discussed what to do next, and there’s none of the usual map indicators. The dialogue in the game

WItcher 3 is easily in the conversation for Best Game of the Gen. However, a couple “GET OUT OF THE HINTERLANDS” notes for max enjoyment:

1. Many people get frustrated early on with the combat, but it actually gets much easier once you learn a few things:
-Always have a Quen shield up when fighting
- ASAP put your level

With VR getting bigger and bigger, though, you can’t even do that. A 2D gameplay video doesn’t do squat to convey how a game feels and plays in VR.

But.. I thought you were supposed to start with Cut Man???
