Witcher 3: Blood and Wine. After being away for so long, it’s kind of amazing bringing a fresh perspective to just how thoroughly polished everything is. The dialogue and plots are well written, everything is fully voiced, and the sidequests are actually interesting instead of being “Fetch this to here”. Just finished

Weird, I made it through my first time — it was harrowing for sure, but never felt unfair. I don’t recall having to enter any heavily fortified buildings.. in fact, I don’t think I ever got in a single conflict outside the house. I was pretty careful about not getting myself anywhere without 2 exits unless I’d scoured

Oh yeah, Skyrim alone can make a person pretty damn awestruck. I really don’t like Skyrim, but I still dumped in 40 hours and am constantly tempted to go back, just because it feels so amazing to marvel at some of the large-scale wilderness, or ruins, or settlements all around you in full real 3D scale.

I really REALLY liked This War of Mine, so I’ll have to check out Frostpunk.

I’ll tell you what’s selling a game for me.. your Yakuza videos. I’ve gone from ‘ehhh’ to ‘I absolutely need to squeeze that high up in a rapidly expanding backlog’!

Still working (out) with Knockout League. Managed to flawlessly beat the divine tribal warrior, now working on the pirate and his damned cheating parrot. The delightful character designs and humor, along with the tight gameplay, have really kept me addicted and burning those calories.

You think that’s bad, my high school friend was actually Kratos in one of the live-action commercials last fall. The beard was majestic, and I don’t even have the whole ‘well it’s rendered so it’s IMPOSSIBLY perfect’ excuse to explain my envy.

Woohoo, Dad’s Garage! One of Atlanta’s treasures. I try to make Baconfest every year.

Stinger!! Played that so much back in the day.. I was a master at blasting giant watermelon monsters and juggling bells.

Dangit, you already listed pretty much the first 8 I could think of.

Been killin it pretty hard in Knockout League. Got past the first circuit of Grudge Matches, beat the scientist with metal spring legs, now learning to fight the warrior princess wearing the possessed mask of her deity.

You’re right.. I just managed to pull off the flawless victory. Now onto the scrawny scientist with metal legs. Thanks coach!

Atlanta has some thriving Pokemon GO Discords.. look em up next time you’re in town and want the inside scoop on spawns and raids and such!

That pink track sounds like something out of Transistor.

I confess, I still have no idea how DropMix works as a game, but it looks delightful as a musical toy!

I got a free bottle of his hot sauce at the gaming expo here in Atlanta. Collector’s Item!

I am absolutely going to play Yakuza 0 based solely on your recaps. Now I just need some sort of excuse to spend, say, 2 months binging games to catch up.

Played A Way Out with a friend. Most of it was the feeling of playing a medium-level action game, with medium-level plot and dialogue, but with a friend. “But with a friend” is a big selling point, mind! I found the final plot twist ridiculous from a plot standpoint, but compelling from a gameplay standpoint.

Man. I really wanted to skip this one. I haven’t played a GoW game since GoW1 (which I enjoyed), and there’s just too many damn games out.

But, frankly, other than Witcher I don’t know that anyone is doing cinematic games as well as the Sony studios right now. Both in technical proficiency and writing, they seem to be

I got a Pro due to the sizable boosts it gives in VR. I can’t say for sure, but I don’t think the graphics will be noticeably different if you don’t have an HDR-compatible TV. 4K isn’t a huge deal in a TV, because even 6-7ft from the TV you’re so far away that it’s hard to really take in the fidelity difference... but

Minit seemed a lot more colorful when it was called Half-Minute Hero and Half-Minute Hero 2.
