Ah, I faintly recall seeing it there and wondering what Fig was..

Thank you for telling me about the free Twitch Prime games!! Been meaning to play Oxenfree forever. You are an angel in human form.
I do want more SWERY in my life. I never got to play D4, because I don’t have an Xbox One.. what a strange platform choice for a SWERY game! My PC also won’t run anything that’s not 2D and simple, so it will just have to be.
What happened to the previous Kickstarter?
1. Don’t you mean, “if you want to hear me make truly atrocious dad jokes, POP it in?”
2. JRPG-wise, Secret of Mana is only representative of Secret of Mana.. it’s its own weird beast. It’s still a good game, but as far as traditional JRPG’s go, Chrono and FF6 are the two tip-top entries of the era.
3. Your take on Detec…
I just attempted the first Emil fight in Nier: Automata.. and I think I’m going to give up my completionist tendencies. I might upgrade the last weapons I have the materials for in order to read the stories, but the fight itself takes a long time to get to and is kinda random and not fun. It’s just spamming dodge and…
(SPOILERS, CONTINUED)
See, my interpretation at first was that 2B knew the YoRHa secret, which prompted me to ask (in the Reddit thread).. if the whole point of resetting 9S was to keep battle androids from knowing, why is it OK for 2B to know but not 9S? I got a convincing response backed up by some evidence (although…
Yes on that music — there is no debate there, that music is just sublime.
***SPOILERS (SORTA)***
Now that you mention it, I did find it very strange the way the game handled the robots. Taro seems to make it abundantly clear very early that the robots are not mindlessly evil (as early as landing on the planet…
Oh yeah, Superhot is up there in the first-generation VR pantheon. You feel like SUCH a badass when you throw a bottle into a guy’s face, snag the guns he drops in mid-air, then no-look shoot two guys to your left and right in the face. I don’t know any other game that makes you feel like such a badass with so little…
As someone who has been co-oping Odyssey with the little one since Christmas, and is just now realizing that we don’t even have 50% completion, the idea that the game could be completed in an evening is completely mind-boggling to me!
I know you probably mean burning through the main storyline, but that’s like getting…
Oooh, Manhunter. I’ll never forget poor baT vomiT.
After our discussion yesterday about stories that require the viewer/player to fill in most of the blanks, and how they’re not my style — well, I’m gonna contradict myself, because I loved Manhunter. Perhaps it was because I was at a much different time, and games in…
Got the new Kirby game, but waiting for us to get all the moons in Mario Odyssey first. Given that we maybe drop 2-3 hours a week on it, I’m assuming we will get to Kirby in 2022. It’s possible this plan is not a good one.
I brought up NNK1 in a discussion recently, and someone mentioned that the final third was actually added after the release of the game when it was ported from the DS (which didn’t come West) to the PS3. That’s why everything seems so well wrapped up two-thirds of the way in, and the final third was just kinda hanging…
I just want it on Spotify.. the covers are not even close to the real deal.
Ah, I see. I do get that you can’t just drop a standard movie into VR there and improve the experience, but I think there’s things about VR that could be distinctly better than movies in that arena (well.. different. A lateral move, for a different medium).
I don’t know if it’ll ever catch on for non-gamers, but for gamers it’s a light-year leap comparable to the move from 2D games to, say, Mario 64.
I think some really cool stuff could be done with the medium that could be superior in some ways to just watching a movie, but technology adoption is a huge barrier. A VR…
PSVR is $2-300, depending on the sale.
I disagree, quite a bit. I think you have a point that being able to control the viewpoint in film gives it certain strengths. But having played no shortage of narrative VR games at this point, I think there are unique strengths to that medium as well:
1. When viewing honest-to-goodness 3D VR, with 3D audio (that is to…
Got Kirby Star Allies coming since it was 20% off on Amazon, and the last Kirby game was a great co-op game for the little one and I. But I’ll probably sit on it until we can finish up the moons in Mario Odyssey, which will probably be sometime in 2019. I may start sneaking around and doing some moons when he’s not…
I never thought about it really, but yeah, this soundtrack was fuckin huge to me.
Given how many Wii U ports there have been, it’s gotta be either a port or a “Splatoon 2" style 1.5 update. I think I’ll be fine with either so long as it trades the dumb board game mode for some other single-player content.
