The recent update has made Crosscells easier.. it doesn't boot you out when you make one wrong choice. This lets you explore the ramifications of certain choices, and back out if one sucks.. the game is much better now. Still, not as good as Hex/Squarecells, though.

Oh, and I almost forgot.. been playing Crosscells, the new game from Hexcells/Squarecells guy. It's not as compulsively playable as the other ones, but a recent update has made it possible to plunk around with the board while figuring out the solution, as opposed to just fitting the whole thing in your head then

I always blow through the Dishonored games and immediately go back through in order to be a perfectly stealthy ghost. Being a ghost is SO satisfying, but doing it while also learning the level layout is pretty frustrating. That first run is like the scouting mission, cept I get to waste dudes with rat swarms.

I've been doing the same thing lately.. not worrying if I passed up trophies I'd miss, or (in the case of Persona 5), not worrying that I'd miss some story content because I didn't optimize my social links. I think it's definitely the way to go. Playing the game is more relaxing and more FUN. It's actually able to

This weekend I'm probably gonna hit up the Southern Fried Gaming Expo, and play some old school arcade games with a friend or two, and hopefully some bizarre Japanese ones. But on the homefront..

I sympathize, because I distinctly remember watching Mulholland Drive a long time ago, and wondering "what does this mean?". And I turned to the trusty internet, and found many conflicting interpretations. And I searched and I searched for a statement from David Lynch, and found it, and he basically said "It means

You are correct.. VR is actually taking up the mantle quite interestingly, so far.

Well, I guess it's not quite self-defining since BAD fighting games could have a class of attacks that always won, but all the way from the early Street Fighter 2 games, the mechanics tend to center around a 'block beats attack, throw beats block, attack beats throw' design.

I think the distance is the missing piece that turns the motion-controlled punching into a viably entertaining game. They tried up-close boxing in Wii Sports, and without the distance it was just a flurry-fest. They added advantages to blocking to compensate, but it just wasn't enough.. flailing like a madperson

Nintendo is rereleasing the popular story of a young man's erotic journey from New Bark Town to Blackthorn City.

I had a 360 as my main machine last gen (bought a PS3 as well, late in the cycle, for a few games). I got a PS4 this go-round. I've followed XB1 news closely to see if there's anything worth going back to XB1 for, since I enjoyed the hell out of it last generation.. but they seem to really be flagging on software

RDR2 info. A look at more VR games (although, ironically, a look is worthless.. maybe do some generic hype and release some full 3D demos?)

I may be getting my names wrong. Pushmo World on the Wii U is how I got started, and now I'm on (I think) Stretchmo. The "free to start, but buy levels" one.

I've played the last 3 and the first one of 2, and of those my guess is that Sanitarium would hold up the best (traditional adventure game), and then maybe.. 7th Guest?

Dang, there's a new Pushmo game? I still haven't finished Pushmo World after taking a breather to play Boxboxboy. Back into the breach I guess.. Pushmo is a hell of a drug.

Alright, just played about 15 levels of Crosscells, and I think your criticisms are valid. You have to hold a lot in your head.. the game doesn't help count for you, and there's no 'tentatively choose this to keep track of the logic implications visually for me'. Not as compulsively playable so far, but I may figure

VR definitely made me feel like, I'd say, when I first played Mario 64 and realized that playable 3D worlds (well, 2D 3D worlds.. you know what I'm saying) could be a thing. It just feels like the wild frontier, and months later the games still put a big smile on my face.

That's too bad. I've only played Dishonored and its sequel so far, but they're incredible. 2, especially, had a couple of levels worthy of inclusion in any 'best level designs of all time' lists.

Well in that case, Pro all the way, baby! The difference in videos between HD and 4K was noticeable but not mind-blowing, but playing Last Guardian and Dishonored 2 before and after was a HUGE difference.

New 'cells' game?? I think it was you that got me hooked originally.. gotta buy now.
