There have been reports of some dealers charging over $1000 for this “fix”. I’d be really tempted to return the car to the dealer - Discount Tire style.
Disco pants and haircuts! This lobby has got EVERYTHING! New Changlis are in early this year!
No, not at all - everything here is fine! No, not really. Ford engineers were calling this thing out during testing.
I was the one who nominated the Focus and yeah I’ve driven them. The problem isnt HOW they drive. When the transmission works it’s a perfectly decent car. My son worked for Ford for several years and dealt with these on a warranty basis and the fix was really just a bandaid to get the things out of warranty.
Very true - I was recently looking for a new commute beater but in my area at least the secret is out. Can’t swing a dead cat without hitting at least 3 Focii with dead DCTs but the manuals have gone up in price along with everything else.
Which practically nobody did (the manuals anyway)
Fair enough, to a point but since the automatic was by FAR the most produced variant - the manuals and RS don’t untaint it much.
Bonus rocket power, my friend. BONUS ROCKET POWER.
Grandma got run over by a rocket...
I just can’t get over all the plastic. I had a 2005 Ram and it sure seemed less plasticky than this. My least favorite of all the LH cars. Magnum or 300 ahead of this one.
Couple that with the Kia Boys theft epidemic and how that’s being handled and I’d say you’ve likely identified the cause. https://jalopnik.com/the-hyundai-kia-theft-fix-is-a-lot-worse-than-you-think-1849653867
