Ha! I remember seeing him on Carson. He said something like: “they found a rich, supple leather and they called it ‘Corinthian’”

Kind of the opposite of a car commercial, where they show somebody driving normally down the road but at the bottom of the screen it says “Professional driver on closed course. Do not attempt”

Here in Coloradoland, what nearly everyone wants it a car under 30 grand with AWD, decent gas mileage, and room to haul skis/kayaks/bikes/camping stuff. You could drive around testing the Rav4s and CR-Vs, or you could just do a one-stop-shop at the Subaru dealer. Then the cycle develops where the Subie dealer sells

won’t fit in my garage driveway street

My dad had exactly the same car, but in blue. One of MANY AMCs, but only the ones without style...never a Gremlin or Pacer

Yup...searched the comments because I knew I’d find Rav4/Lexus Hybrid suggestions.  The Lexus would be my first choice because 80 miles is a long time to sit.

I remember an old quote from Road & Track magazine, where the author was told if he kept all the cars he’d owned he’d be a millionaire. His response was if he’d been a millionaire he’d have kept all those cars. BTW, I sold my Scirocco so I could buy an ‘84 Dodge Ram 50 pickup.

Ohhhh, I miss mine! I had a ‘78 with the “Sidewinder” package. White with a big black stripe down the center, aftermarket gold “BBS” style wheels. I loved that car, except for the vapor lock.

Oh, I had WAAAAY more pressing problems with that car

My old VW Type3 had heated everything, but it wasn’t intentional.  I just couldn’t get those vents to close.

I don’t really care about the whole “Ford/Chevy” thing, I just wanted to thank you for the new contact photo

Ouch, this just looks painful. I mean, its probably still a decent show compared to a lot of what else is on, but apart from the original three I truly believe the next best group was Tanner, Adam and Rutledge.

Next year: pants

I love it! Bought my GTI spring of 2012...2dr/6mt. My wife calls it “the mid-life-crisis-mobile”. I’m the “wild and free spirited” 50 something.

I loved the CC. I always thought of it as the “grown-up’s GTI”. Up to the point where I went to drive one with my wife and she called it “an old man’s car” and then steered me toward the GTI instead.

Ugh.  Another SUV.

If you’re accidentally headed for water, perhaps staying IN the boat would be a safer bet.

I was really afraid he was going to say “don’t start with a full battery” because of the extra weight.

Thank God I was young before cellphones
