Could be worse

I had a sales guy try to steer me away from a G35 and into a shiny new TSX. I told him I’d be interested if it wasn’t so ugly, and he shrugged and gave a look as if he couldn’t argue my point.

For me it was a tossup between a ‘95 Integra and a ‘95 Celica, my friend had one of each on his lot. He got a better deal on buying the Integra at auction so he was able to sell the Acura to me for less $, so that’s the one I bought. No regrets, but now you’ve got me thinking why I didn’t look closer at a CRX.

Yeah, but I never saw one in my price range. In fact even the Civics...same year, same equip were more money than my Integra, which to this day I can’t explain.

If you wanted something fun to drive but still cared about efficiency, cost and comfort the Integra was tough to beat.

my 14-year-old daughter has chosen the car she wants as her first car: either a Jeep Cherokee or a Subaru Legacy. I immediately eliminated one of the options and started poking around to see what a used Legacy goes for.

Evidently there is no place to put Sally Fields either

at first glance I thought the interior was from a ‘79 Trans Am

Weird, last night I had a dream I just bought an ‘80's MR2...in WHITE. In my dream I needed to accelerate hard (to win a running race...dream, you know) and the engine sputtered. But I’ve been thinking about this exact car all day.

I assume this is even more important with a turbocharged engine. Even in warm weather I wait until the car is up to operating temperature before I accelerate hard, all the while thinking I’m prudent. Perhaps I’m just old.

When hybrids first came out people were saying that the batteries would last 8-10 years and then cost ten grand to replace. Yeah, I know. Reality takes a long time to rewire a first impression. I think its like how when I was a kid my neighbor told me if I go out in a hailstorm without a hat I WILL get brain damage.

Honestly, I don’t want it at ANY price.

Pandora has an “offline” mode and a phone app. Amazon Prime allows album downloads and has a phone app. I have an ancient fake cassette adapter so I can plug my phone into a cassette player and I have an even more ancient thing that will broadcast my phone onto some left-dial FM station. So I get a fukton of music for

There are car geeks, bike geeks, weather geeks, food geeks, etc forever. They all have their charms, EXCEPT for stereo geeks.

Anyone who thinks women aren’t strong enough to compete against men doesn’t know much about women.

I just want one for potholes and not slowing down for railroad tracks

When I was in high school I loaded 15 cheerleaders into our 8 passenger van so I could drive them to the game. Not really abusing the van, it’s just an excuse to tell this story to everyone.

I was entertained. Good enough for me.

Is it better than a Sentra?

The peppermint Joe Joes...the first thing we ever bought at a TJ’s, and chose it on a whim. Then we went back the next day and bought more. And then more...
