Yeah, how dare I declare something funny just because I think it is? I should think it's not funny, because you think it's not. Who made me God?
Bollocks. I laughed at what she said because of the specific combination of statements, one upending the other. It wouldn't always be funny, but this time it is.
Yeah, let's pretend that giant straw man you built is what I was going for, and throw in an immense exaggeration for luck.
Well, no we won't. Not with that attitude.
Yes, definitely the CEO of Tesla Motors who also co-founded SpaceX: has to be, as opposed to Nikolai Tesla. As to what this means... well...
Yeah, I know what you mean. If the story was just "Lana Del Rey Reveals an Interest in Bleeding Edge Engineering", I'd think, "Oh, cool, let's hear what you've got to say. Maybe we're finally going to see who you are under the image".
I'm laughing way too hard to be angry about what she said. Beyond parody, all of it.
She went on to say, "I'm more interested in, you know, SpaceX and Tesla, what's going to happen with our intergalactic possibilities."
Any decent case ought to have points on the rear of the motherboard bed so that you can run the cables behind that tray and only see small lengths of cable emerging. Some allow you to attach SSDs behind there as well, so they're completely hidden.
The number of times I've "fixed" friends' PCs though, when all that was wrong was something incredibly simple, such a cable having worked itself slightly loose. I often wonder how many repair shop jobs are done in seconds, and whether they spend longer writing up the bill than they did on the job itself. For that…
Yeah, that's what I was hearing too — and of course, if you don't have good airflow, you're probably going to have fans firing way too hard, and therefore noise. I was hoping for something a bit more stylish from Fractal, since I'm using an R4 at the moment, and the Cores they've shown at Computex so far aren't quite…
I quite like the Prodigy M. I'm not a fan of windowed cases though, so I'd prefer the solid one if I had to have a Prodigy, but I'm more into the minimal looks of the Phenom MicroATX. Only 33cm tall!
They'll take up whatever you've got. Browsers are greedy, but they're not an indication of what you need for tasks. If you're interested, lots of tech sites have run benchmarks testing games with 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and sometimes 32GB. Nobody ever finds any benefit for games, except a tiny improvement on Tomb Raider…
Small cases: definitely the way I want to go. I want the box to disappear, so if I can hide it behind a monitor, so much the better. I built my latest system on an mATX form factor, but for now I'm keeping it in the Fractal Define R4. It's not a pretty case, but at least it's quiet and well soundproofed within, which…
Very true. Years ago, I used to use too much, thinking it was a "more the merrier" situation, but that's definitely bad practice.
More than 8GB isn't really necessary for games yet. It can be handy if you're doing video editing, heavy Photoshop work, or music production, but for gaming there is no need. Might as well keep it at 8GB and wait for the need to arise/prices to fall.
There is no way you had 5 dud PSUs in a row. Something else was going on there.
True. It's even easier now. I've been building PCs for 16 years, and the ability to call up a video of just about anything you want on YouTube would have been a godsend when I started. Even though I'm not great with electronics, I was able to open and repair my flatscreen monitor thanks to an online video, where in…
Those are very ugly, especially the white one.
