It doesn't. None of these mouth-breathers has ever seen what happens when power goes down for weeks after a flood, hurricane or big fire.

All you guys bragging about IP based services on the cell network clearly have never left Mom’s basement long enough to experience what happens when the power goes out for days in a crisis.
Does it work without cellphone service?
As much as I hate that AM radio seems to be filled with a bunch of right-wing propaganda or religious zealots yelling at me, I believe that AM radio still is a great opportunity for community radio stations in non-metropolitan areas. I’d always hoped that AM radio would become cheap enough to support this kind of…
Don’t forget the Thunderbird got there a couple years earlier!
I had a passed down 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII in college and the neon rear bar was (and still) great looking. Now cars are going back to the lightbars like we had on many in the 80's as well.
I nominate the last few years of the Lincoln Mark VII. That full width neon across the back end was very futuristic looking. The technology of using neon didn’t last, LEDs took that mantle... but it sure did look amazing.
Damn I wish manufacturers would skip their next design focus group and use this list.
Those mid 2000s Chrysler vehicles were way ahead of their time!
The increasingly ‘pill-box on Normandy’ design language associated with modern cars.
Automatic Mustang owners watching out the window of a Planet Fitness while they remotely rev their cars at 15 year old girls.
I miss mine. Sold it for 4500 a few years back. It was a 93 with 96k on it. Vinyl floors, bench seat. All truck, no fluff.
Doesn’t matter with this engine, I had 350k on my 96 when I sold it. You will miss not having the Mazda 5 speed from the refresh though.
It wouldn’t make me miserable. I’d just be too busy laughing at how ugly it is.
I don’t care if it tickles my balls while giving me a blowjob, it’s irredeemably ugly. No matter how good this giant SUV handles, it can’t escape my overwhelming desire to torch every one I see.
I don’t understand how so many people are defending the Pinto as a good car. I guess y’all didn’t grow up driving VW Rabbits for reference? That’s the only car I knew at the time (my first car, 1980 Rabbit) but I could easily tell it was on another level compared to the Pacers, Germlins, Darts, and Pintos my friends…
Seems like the card reader would be such a simple solution... Does anyone know why this isn’t already in place? Are they trying to get around CC fees? Or simply hoping to data mine via their apps? Seems like they could still get sufficient metadata from Visa/Mastercard, no?
Yup. If they want people to think charging is as easy as getting gas, then make it like getting gas. All these companies are tripping over themselves to make charging the most modern!/hipster!/futuristic! thing you can do when they should be making it as dumb and easy as possible.
Agree. With the fact that charging takes longer than gassing up, these companies have actually made the experience of paying for something harder.
The Smoking Tire talks ad nauseum about this. All the government incentives are for building these stations... and that’s it. 6 months after they are made, half the posts are on the fritz, and the only way to get them to come out and fix them is if you have a following like Matt Farah and drag them on social media for…
