Yeah... I fucking hate charging my EV when not at my home... Aside from Electrify America (most of their stations are along interstates or in cities) and tesla superchargers (same thing) that’s worked reliably, there’s like 10+ different charging apps that’s mostly not interoperable and requires NFC shit to work....

I’m getting old and I know child safety and child car seat designs have changed. But my parents hauled my sister and I around in a Dodge Omni and later a Ford Tempo. Eventually, we got a minivan. The percentage of people that NEED a Ford Explorer has gotta be pretty small.

Beaters are great and I love driving them except when they break down in the middle of nowhere in a driving rainstorm.

It’s bad on my car, a F10 BMW 535. With where my seat is set, I can barely see over my left shoulder at all. The pillar feels like it’s a foot wide.

I drive a 2000 F350 diesel stick with the trailer tow mirrors that I leave fully extended at all times. You can NOT hide from these mirrors and I drive by them. They do not retract and they’re 9 feet, 4" wide from outside to outside. But I actually know how to drive. however in saying that one does need excellent

I don’t need to drive that much, and if I do I can use the wife’s. So I’m pre 73 now.

I’m gonna say that here in the Northeast your statement is true AND false about our area. There are tons of HD riding guys here. However, every other brand is truly represented. I go to a regular Sunday Bikes and Breakfast and although we in the Ducati owners group tend to have a heavy presence, there are plenty of

Same where I live in the South. As a rider I always notice bikes on the road, and the majority of them are Harleys (besides sportbikes, obviously). I’ve owned several Hondas and live near a dealer, and I’m amazed how few of their bikes I see regularly.

This. In much of the country, as far as way too many people are concerned, there are only two types of motorcycles: Harleys and “crotch rockets.” And metric cruisers are included in the Harley category by default because most non-riders can’t tell the difference (and don’t care).

The only garments I buy from a Harley dealership nowadays is a souvenir t-shirt to show I’ve been there for service (note: I also gotten teased for wearing a Harley reflective vest at a dealership from a casual passenger who didn’t see the point of loud garments save lives). I gotten tired of getting soaking wet in

Gronk bought all of them

It’s far easier for the motorcycle ignorant to just rag on Harley. I’m not a Harley guy, have never owned a Harley, but to think HD is just some poor performing t-shirt company is some old-ass, ignorant trope that gets trotted out by dumb writers and commenters.

Go into a Harley dealer looking to buy a LiveWire, and the sales staff will steer you away from those “candy-ass” electric bikes because they’re sure you really want a throbbing V-Twin between your legs.”

Not really on the Livewire. I am not a Harley guy, I like ADV bikes and the PanAm doesn’t appeal to me at all. However, a buddy went and took the course to get his license at a Harley dealer in Massachusetts, so I went down to check it out with him on my Honda Africa Twin.

Crap lede. Here’s a rewrite: “HD Core business performing, e-bike business may take years to be profitable.” Hey! Kind of like the auto business.

Harley also said that LiveWire sold just 69 motorcycles in the fourth-quarter...”

Because it’s all Jalopnik can do to get clicks these days - clickbait thinly disguised as a blog for car enthusiasts.

base rate is BS since you never pay just that. You should take the whole bill and divide it by KWH. That’s your real electricity cost.

Plus, they’d have to learn how to use blinkers if they switched.

So... uh... this?
