Long Wheelbase Panthers!

Sure there is. Keep it a large, blingy four-door. Just update the chassis. Please god don’t make it look like every other 2009 Hyundai Sonata carbon copy made in the last ten years.

This is heaven on wheels.

Anybody used one in an R129 SL?????

That thing looks pretty rad. I’d rock that.

I actually don’t think the roofline is as big a deal as front windshield rake. The further the windshield is raked, the further the rest of the car has to get squished together. I stand by the current E-Class as an example, but yours are much better. The Fusion was not the bastion of space efficiency, and the Taurus

Another Town Car.

People buy cars that work (for the most part). That is really what has killed sedans. The Impala and Fusion were, all things considered, large cars. But they were not roomy big cars. They just had a big footprint. Even cars like the Camry have fallen for this. Cars have had to get more aerodynamic for the sake of

I still can’t get over the sheet ugliness and cheapness of the CT5. It (meaning the c-pillar) looks like a freaking Cruze. For the love of all things sacred, Cadillac, just shut up and build the Elmiraj. Or, at least something resembling a goddamned Sedan Deville. Not this Cimarron-influenced garbage.

Holy sexy headers.

This is where I think Mercedes lost with the SL. They have a tendency to keep SL’s around for a long time, so they feel the need to revolutionize every generation. Which, used to be ok. The R107 was groundbreaking and instantly classic when it came out. The R129 (which I, being biased, own) was considered the same.

Contrary to the author, I’d take the one with more power. This thing is heavy and it is not FAST with the V6.

I heart my R129. Great cars. But seriously, add $10k to get it fully operational.

I think you could split this generation into two. The 89-93 cars were pretty, interesting for the time, and you could get a five-speed and a supercharged engine. The interiors were either cool or luxurious, and in all reality, it was a much cleaner design than the W-Body cars. And the independent rear suspension

This doesn’t go into how much automakers have reduced residuals in the past three to five years. In many cases, model for model, it is 5-10% different resulting in a $50-100 swing when they come to re-lease.

Everyone should drive jalopies :)

I am as big of a Lincoln fan-boy as there is. However, this is a $5000-8000 car. If the exterior imperfections didn’t exist, you might be closer to the asking price.

OMG. This thing screams “instant death” but i can’t think of a more fun way to get there.

I bought my EFI Bonneville two years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I love my fun things.
