I don’t know if special is the right word, seeing as every single major beat in Alan Wake was either ripped off, or riffed from another horror film. It even got so clunky as to narrate the things it was referring to. Remedy as a studio has great ideas, but their writing has always been so hammy that it never got scary

It’s ok on the first playthrough, mostly because it’s a collection of jump scares, but any other time playing it and the whole thing is as exciting or scary as watching paint dry. It’s the very definition of a single serving game.

It’s almost as if I stated an opinion! Gasp!

“This guy” is coming from the place where he bought his Xbox One with a couple of games for $250, and his PS4 for $220 off of Craigslist in the last few months.

Being in the minority doesn’t make you wrong though.

Absolutely! :D

Well, you’ll be happy to know that Until Dawn was terrible, so you didn’t miss out on anything.

Hold off for another four to six months and you’ll be able to find a PS4 off ebay or craigslist for around $200. By that point most games will have come down to $15-30 depending on their age, and you’ll have a huge backlog of great titles available.

Heavy Rain was easily one of the worst games of the year. For a choose your own adventure type of story it had terrible writing, awful characters, and, worst of all, it cheated the player when it painted itself into a corner. The presentation may have been pretty as a junebug, but the content was empty.

This. So much. Cage might be a good idea man, but he’s an utterly dismal writer and director.

But saying “putting incentives to kill sex workers” is inherently a flat out lie. There is no such thing, and her portraying works like that is exactly why people dislike her and McIntosh so much. They’re like Michael Moore in that they cherry pick, twist, and falsify evidence to prove a point. It makes for bad

Nothing inherently, but the way regressive liberals are going about is by silencing every single person who disagrees with them by calling the opposition racist, misogynist, transphobic, or whatever “problematic” term they can come up with.

This is exactly the same for PS4, so I don’t know why you’re pinning this solely on the Xbox.

Eh. Spec Ops remains in my mind just a colossal failure, exasbarated even further by it’s smug attitude. Forcing the player to do things and then saying “well, you should have stopped playing” is not smart, nor clever, but the kind of antics you’d expect from an art grad. Especially when the game is so hamfisted that

That’s the second recommendation for Lost Stars, so consider it on my reading list. Thanks!

Oh absolutely, it’s a lose-lose situation no matter what you do. 90% of the time I can just ignore that unless it’s really heavily fanservicing in any one direction.

Differing opinions? BAN THEM!

So happy that Marvel continues to try different genres and characters. I’ve really liked Krysten Ritter in a bunch of stuff for years now, even when the material hasn’t been up to her level, so here’s hoping that this is finally her big break. Can’t wait to see how it’s going to tie in with the rest of the Marvel

Oh come on, this is the same as the “pro driver, do not attempt” disclaimer on ads. It’s a smart way of covering their asses, nothing more, nothing less.

They have to do it. It’s because we now live in a world where if they didn’t, they’d be hounded by every ambulance chaser and online soapboxer. First it would be about how dare they make a game that’s racist, then about how it’s sexist, and maybe one day they’d go all around back to it being satanic.
