Eat shit. Production design introduced in 2009.”

You get called out for being wrong and instead of an intelligent argument, you write back with such grace and dignity. How are you still employed? You really think responses like this help gain jalopnik more readers or fans? Grow up

You’re such an adult.

I feel like this is kind of an auto journalist/enthusiast gripe that doesn’t have much traction in the real world. It’s understandable (and I’m certainly guilty of it too) — we want something new and exciting. Journalists want a clean sheet design to write about. Just look at the reams of content that can be produced

Based on what I’ve read, Justin isn’t the greatest at doing research. And while the current gen GC has been around for quite awhile, it’s very likely that the real reason the new gen is delayed is due to COVID.

It was unveiled at the 2009 NYIAS, so maybe he’s going on that?

Yeah, they released photos early if I remember correctly. That said, first model year was 2011. Justin should clarify as the way he his assertion is inaccurate. Modern journalism.

Basically came to comment with the first half of this. The current Grand Cherokee was introduced in 2010 as a 2011 model. Not a huge difference, but tacking on an extra 20% to the WK’s lifespan isn’t exactly... accurate.

I’m not a “Jeep guy”, but I picked up a HEMI Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit as a dog/tow vehicle a couple of years ago, just because it seemed so capable to do everything I needed it to do, in comfort that competed with the X5 or Q7.

On the other end of the spectrum you have GM who just love to spend money on new products and then drop them a year later.

Somewhat unrelated and Torch wrote an article about it a few weeks ago but I’m glad Ohio dropped the front license plate law.  I removed mine as soon as I was able.

The Honda E is available, just not in the US:

And Honda. The Zoe is doing well but that beautiful little concept Honda came up with will never see the light of day.

The biggest difference is the Zoe is getting a lot of gov incentives right now in the EU. That’s great for EU residents, but everyone else would still need to pay full price (assuming it was even available in the US).

Actually it wouldn’t be Elon who would say that. He WANTS the auto industry to switch to BEVs.

How is the Zoe different from the Leaf or the Bolt?  Seems like roughly the same price, range, and body style... ???

Well, they did “move” the XC60 production for the US from Sweden to China. They’ve since moved it back due to tariff threats, but that was and is their goal.

Samuelsson added that Volvo’s profitability has not suffered as it has transition away from a heavy reliance on diesels, which accounted for about 45 percent of Volvo’s European sales in the first half, down from nearly 60 percent during the same period last year.

One more reason to get out and drive of Los Angeles.
