Im smack in the middle and I like it but would never pay the asking price for this half-arsed conversion. CP from me.

Yeah, this example is in great shape and is truly “rare”.... but it is not collectible, nor will it ever be. Its just a tarted up LeBaron, which wasnt a great car to start with. So CP at this price. But I could see it going for 5k.
These had a lot of problems, even when new. Id wholly avoid this car, its a massive CP. Start with the ridiculous Injen “cold air” intake and work your way through from there. Ridden hard and left wet.
Tell that to the nearby Hyundai dealer that has 2.4l recall engines stacked up behind the shop.
These early Equus models are not known to be the most reliable. Combine that with outrageous insurance rates due to parts availability along with the egregiously high mileage and this example is a CP at the asking price. While it is luxurious, $8900.00 could be spent on a much better vehicle for daily driving. So a…
Most of the Home Depot trucks I have seen do not have trailer hitches - they dont want them used for towing.
Agreed, either the Dodge Durango Hemi V8 or the Durango SRT are right up this guys alley. The Mercedes and BMW are awful choices and dont really have that much cargo space. The Grand Cherokee is very nice but above budget. The F150 raptor will absolutely suck to drive in California traffic.
Man Drakkon, no doubt about it. I cant believe that 23% of readers think this example is a nice price. Yes, these are gaining in value but only if they are unmolested! This one looks nice on the surface but has been pretty much messed with across the board. The S64 / Getrag combo is nice, but it ruins the collectible…
Oh yeah, this example has CP written all over it. From the messed with engine bay to the high miles, to the dented up body, and the high-as-a-kite price, this could be CP of the year. Someone has a lot of brass to ask $15k for this rent-a-wreck.
These were decent drivers back in the day - they handled very well and had some decent power when coupled with the manual trans. Id drive one today if it was in decent shape.
bUt ItS a ToYoTa...
Yeah, massive CP on this one for two main reasons - first, it is simply overpriced. He is erring on the high NADA book value which he will never get for this example. Realistically he is looking at a $3000-$3500 car. Second, this car was ridden hard and put up wet. There is a lot of body panel misalignment and general…
Agreed, CP, this is wayyyyyy too sketchy, has a troubled past, and who knows why the nose was changed - but I am sure it was not due to aesthetic reasons. Major CP on this one. Shame.
Im in agreement with you VetRacer. I do like this Peugeot, but it would make for a terrible daily driver. What could go wrong with a 30 year old Peugeot that has 170k miles on the clock? So its a CP from me, even at its attractive price. The interior is in poor shape and the car is full of dings and dents. Add to it…
This exactly. While I really like this conversion, its not worth anywhere near the asking price. It doesnt matter what the owner has in it, it matters what the market will bear. And I suspect the market would bear around $20000.00 for this example. So CP from me - its not a bad car, but its an awful price.
Audi’s generally arent my cup of tea. But this Avant is a giant slice of early 90's goodness. Id also buy it at this price, without thinking twice. So NP from this non-Audi guy!
Yep. I want it. Dont know why, but it is very cool and priced right. It may not make sense but that chill lumbering V8 and bench seat combo just speak to me. An awesome NP from me.
No doubt about it, this example isn’t even worth $6k, much less $16.5k. I have no idea how the seller considers the interior to be a “10" with the amount of wear and damage it has. And the exterior has been sprayed in the past, to the point that panels don’t exactly color match. Add to that the sheer magnitude of how…
I really wanted to like this one, but the CC is largely a pile of stink and selling it at this price makes it even stinkier. The CC was and is known for a whole slew of mechanical and electrical issues that will plague the temporarily happy buyer. The CC wasnt particularly well built and I would expect a ton of…
Tough call on this one. Id prefer it to have the front hood misalignment and the paint blemishes corrected in order to get asking price. Assuming $1000-$1500 could be negotiated off the price in order to restore the obvious flaws, this is an NP. If the owner refused and pulled the “I know what Ive got...” then CP.
