yeah, agreed - this is a NP amongst the Maserati-rati.  I like it, wouldnt buy it because Id be afraid of something going boom on the way home, but it is a good value.

Yeah, these were pretty much sales poison at BMW dealers.  Bloated, ugly, and slow is no way to go through life and this version is all three.  If you are going to fork out the cash, get one with a manual transmission and/or a V8.  This one simply has nothing at all going for it, other than a soon to be massive

Im gonna go ahead and say it. RHD in the United States and Canada SUCKS. There is no good reason to own an RHD vehicle around here other than postal delivery (as in this example). RHD is not a “value-add”, especially if you are trying to make a left turn in a dense urban area.

This.  Exactly.  Its kind of cool in a Radwood way, but its nowhere near worth $9k.  I like the car for some reason, but no Fuego is worth that asking price.  ND.

This exactly.  $28k buys a newer, more reliable GM BOF SUV.  Why anyone would even want this ‘sclade instead is a complete mystery to me.  Easy ND here.

I totally agree with you here, but to me something is amiss with this GT. That is a LOT of gunk and a LOT of wear for the stated 30k mileage. The engine bay looks like it has a lot more hard miles on it as well. The carbs instead of FI are also of concern - was the Weber FI removed? If so, when? Or was this a

Anyone voting NP to this monstrosity is just trolling.  No one in their right mind would pay this asking price for a 14 year old Durango with some drab paint and kitchy accessories.  There is an extra zero in that asking price somewhere.

Yep, this one flooded and then caught fire, probably from an electrical short, hence the fairly clean spoiler and vent.  But this is a hard pass - the current owner just bought it and didnt realize what he was getting into, so he is trying to offload it.  Why would anyone want to take on someone elses failed project?

This exactly. If it passed a PPI, this is an easy NP. On the bright side, this is a basic 325i that doesn’t have AWD and also doesn’t have the notoriously fun but unreliable turbo 6. So this example shouldn’t be too bad to maintain. If you are going to get an E46 and want a modicum of reliability, the 325i would be it.

Agreed, this isnt just an ND, this is a true CP.  That carpet staining looks a lot like flood damage, and this Frankenstein is super high in the mileage department.  This is a $4k car, not a $14k car.

Same here.  Like it or not, this is a future “classic car” and would be a unique toy to have in the garage.  This example is priced well given the market and is in super clean shape.  Its not my cup of tea, but it is an NP in the big picture.

Agreed, this is a $2k-$2.5k car.  Not a $5k car.

Sorry but this SEC is a hard pass.  It fails the basic litmus test of never buying a once expensive car from someone who cannot afford to pave their driveway.  Adding to that fact is that the current owner has only had this SEC for a few miles and cant seem to spell “Mercedes” correctly.  All of these mean to avoid

Very cool! Ive been looking for an older Leaf just for fun and around town duty. It would make a nice complement to my truck in my garage.  Ill be following this journey.

Can someone - anyone - PLEASE teach the staff at Jalopnik how to write a proper title?

Agreed.  This is a unicorn car - but its not worth anywhere near the asking price.  The timing chain service isnt recent, and lack of working AC is a problem for a car that has supposedly had all preventative maintenance done.  ND for me.  But Id still think about it and maybe change my mind at $8000.

Oh this car looks fun as heck to drive.  But those turbos do not belong where they are.  One puddle or dusty road, and there will be crazy expensive repairs.  I never understood the trend of putting turbochargers a few inches from the ground.

If it runs, NP for sure.  These are rare as hens teeth and this would be a fun car to recondition - but not restore.  If its not running, CP.

That cockpit is appropriately equipped for the price point.  The engine, however, is another story.  Eventually it will need to be replaced - sooner rather than later - and at great expense.  Most likely with a similar Lycoming or Continental mill that has a $20k plus price tag.  But at least it will have parts

VW builds crap, and they have since the late 90s. I’m sure the engineers designed the engine to be reliable, but then the accountants and bean counters said, “Lets outsource production of these chain guides to Dong Feng Plastics and Glue factory. They are cheapest, and they will ‘self-certify’ their parts, saving us
