Don’t make the mistake of assuming bad drivers and left foot brakers are a circular venn diagram.

Left foot braking in normal driving conditions is as indefensible as standing up as soon as your plane lands.

If you have to be told that it’s ok to left foot brake on the street, you probably aren’t qualified to do it properly and you’ll probably do it wrong (at some point).

Track driving and street driving are very different and this is a clear example. If you’re driving defensively, not speeding excessively or following too closely you should never need the fraction of a second this saves. Plus most people have decades of right foot braking muscle memory... IMO it’s better to learn to

Counter-point: The average driver doesn’t have the presence of mind to keep any and all pressure off the brake when not braking so you’ll have people testing their left foot on the brake pedal resulting in prematurely worn brake pads and their brake lights being on constantly, even while accelerating...so it’s easier

Weight transfer... as if 99.9% of drivers would have any capability of managing weight transfer. Anyway, all of this is countered by one simple thing. Nobody is going to have their left foot constantly hovering over the brake pedal but not touching it. Even a gentle touch of the brake pedal on most cars activates the

The problem with left foot braking is that people tend to lightly rest their foot on the pedal which keeps the brake lights on so you never actually know when the person is actually slowing down.

Left foot braking is probably fine for short trips when you are actively thinking about what you are doing.

My issue is that the only time I ever notice a left-foot braker is because they have their brake lights on while accelerating away from a light. This has soured me to the idea of left-foot braking on the street, as my only encounters with it are from idiots who can’t take their foot off of the brake. In these

Lol, if your community is relying on that plant, you might wanna start talking to a real estate agent.

sad but true. This is a brutal failure on the part of Boeing and the FAA/regulators. Heads need to roll. (and they wont, well except for the poor folks in the crashes)

Dude, look at that truck. It’s pretty obvious that Workhorse won’t even be a thought in 10 years.

What failing Jalopnik won’t tell you is what a fantastic job I would do reforming the UAW. It’s going to a beautiful, classy union when I’m done with it. I give myself an A+ on union reforming. And having tremendous respect for women, I give myself an A+ on that as well. And you can tell China we’re winning at space. W

Neutral: The current government? Do they even have someone in that roll, were they ever hired? Being honest, Pot calling the kettle black seems to be the Whitehouse’s MO for the last few years. Would be par for the course to make this their next big distraction

It’ll probably depend on the type of boulder. But honestly why do you care if your boulders get scratched?

The 300,000 lbs towing capacity that Musk mentioned might not be the same as a 300,000 lbs tow rating. For example a Tundra towed the Space Shuttle which amounted to almost 300,000 lbs:

Counterpoint - Boomers as a whole are doing fine in terms of their personal lives. They can handle some light ribbing over the fact that their generation, on balance, supports awful people and awful policies.

Boomers deserve every bit of ridicule that can be thrown at them.

This was Andrew Yang’s entire campaign basically, and people wrote him off as insane.
