Darren are’not enough people, you mean...?
Not sure I’d call Breaker! Breaker! a good film, exactly, even if it was Chuck Norris’s first major role in an American movie, @VideoPgh....
O, Calcutta!?
It’s a Darren Aronofsky movie - have they ever done well at the box office? Sure he keeps getting money because his movies get critical raves and Oscar Nominations, but he’s hardly what I’d call a “crowdpleaser”.
I saw what you did there.
So did Big Steve, daring The Bigot Trump Posse (DonFukaBoos?) to not watch It - none of which prevented It (get it?) from cleaning up at the box office.
Let’s see if I’m still in the greys, or if I’m legit finally.
Yeah, when my wife wants to unwind after a hard day, she doesn’t turn on The Americans or A Handmaid’s Tale - she goes straight to Grey’s Anatomy reruns on Netflix, same as she used to seek out Every Law & Order ever.
Taciturn sort, ain’t he?
That’s right, he was Patrick Swayze’s and Charlie Sheen’s Dad in the good Red Dawn! Not a big part (nor were most of his roles), but certainly a memorable one (as were most of his roles).
@LaurenceQ - I like it better this season, which I guess means I really wouldn’t have liked Ally McBeal. In fact, Callista Flockhart’s Cat Grant was my least favorite character in the entire show - she reminded me in every bad way of Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Um - J.D. Robb’s In Death series? Grisly crime drama, mid-21st Century SF, hot sex between the two heroes, and the role Stana Katic was born to play, Eve Dallas? They could get Milana Vayntrub to play her partner Peabody - and the more my wife inflicts Netflix’s steraming of Grey’s Anatomy on me, the more I think, “Ya…
Aren’t they doing a series based on Scalzi’s Redshirts?
And Timothy Olyphant is so much better on television than he is in movies, too!
That’s assuming your posts ever get out of the Greys, too!
I caught clips of David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman starring Adrienne Palicki, and oh gods was it awful! I kind of thought at the time she didn’t have the physical presence to handle an female action hero, until she showed that she certainly did on AoS - so I’m guessing the fault’s all Kelley’s.
Hey, @Opus T. Penguin - Nathan Fillion! He’s played the cocky but in over his head Commanding Officer before, and he can definitely sell the engaging bozo humor and the Big Damn Hero-ness needed.
Normally I can’t stand MacFarlane, but I do enjoy some Star Trek pastiche. We’re going to give this a go, see if it’s worth sticking with....
So...Mockingbird and Simmons, then?
Could they land in Tahiti instead?
I hear it’s a magical place....
