i think so. for one, the mention that he has/had a brother is quite the bombshell, and there’s still years between where the series left off and where A New Hope begins.

he clearly studied Alec Guinness, and his portrayal of Guinness’s mannerisms really sold it for me. they were often so subtle, but perfectly done.

i loved, loved, *loved* Kenobi, and i’m sad to hear that it’s not going forward (yet). there’s more to tell, and Ewan is on board and he’s so great... please don’t let this series die. it would be a huge missed opportunity.

that “Feed the Kitty” with Marc Antony and Pussyfoot makes me cry EVERY TIME. it’s just the sweetest, most wholesome thing.

John Lewis is *definitely* smirking. i don’t think Hendrix was smirking though, and he could smirk like a motherfucker.

This is so encouraging to read. i look forward to what y’all have planned. (and no more slideshows? HOORAY!)

i don’t feel it’s fair to ding Smaug based on the rest of the movie(s). the scene with Smaug and Bilbo was one of those things they knew they HAD to nail, and they did it perfectly well.

speaking as a gay who was around in 1996, it may have been “cooler” than it was in 1966, but it was barely better to come out in 1996 than it was in 1986, which is why when Ellen came out publicly a year or so after this clip it was HUGE news. I fully get why Nathan was probably terrified of being outed at the time,

if it was good enough for e.e. cummings, it’s good enough for me, lol.

oh, i forgot about “Best,” — i have seen that too. i always assumed that it’s a more casual way of saying “Best Regards” but now you have me second-guessing, lol

yeah, exactly. i like those.

holy crap, that drone delivery video made me a believer. BRING ON DRONE DELIVERY!

surprised that the list of options covered for signing off on emails doesn’t include “Cheers,” or “Regards,” which is what i see most often in business emails. Personally, i use “Thanks,” and that’s not covered either.

truth!

same, same. i have friends who were at that show, and it kills me that i missed it. i wore that album out, and it’s still one of the best concert videos i know of.

yeah, that was awesome. in a way, it sold me on wanting to see that movie, too.

Seconded. Bad Batch has been really building to something great this season. i’m wondering if/when we’ll get to see them as live-action characters.

i immediately was calling them Morlocks, too. just seems like a nod.

meh, Dances With Wolves is still one of my favorite movies.

a cast-iron wok seems like a non-optimal wok to me. the whole point is to transfer heat quickly to the surface and then the food, and a thin steel would do that much better and more efficiently than cast iron. you’d have to let that cast iron heat up for much longer before it would cook the same way. i bet they look
