Agreed. It’s not that gloves are bad (if workers prefer them and change them diligently cool). But the article suggested that workers would be required to wear gloves because of covid, which isn’t scientifically valid.

From a covid perspective, gloves are not better than hand washing. So again, if the workers prefer to wear gloves, that’s cool. But if diners think gloves provide more protection than hand washing, the are wrong.
Can someone please explain to me why people think glove are a good idea in the restaurant context? The virus does not transmit in either direction across your skin. The only issue with touching things is if you touch something that is contaminated (e.g. someone sneezed on) and then you touch a mucus membrane (mouth,…
I agree that we have not all already had SARS-Cov-2. However, it is very likely that far more people that we previously thought have had it and were either asymptomatic or had mild symptoms (for some reason people think this is a bad thing, but I’m not sure why; it shows that perhaps, for most people it isn’t as…
Honest question: why do people think gloves will help? Unless it is primarily to prevent “contamination” of your car, I’m not seeing the benefit. Even then, the virus might survive (and even then we aren’t sure about viability) on say, your steering wheel, for 12 hours. How after are you driving your car during this?
The restaurant is Arnaud’s which is in the French Quarter just off of Bourbon St. Very old school New Orleans. And yes you are required to wear a collared shirt and jacket (I thought it was jacket and tie, but maybe they have changed it). It is clearly stated on the website that this is their policy, but I have…

Why does anyone every choose to live in a community with an HOA?
There is plenty of uncertainty and “soon” in an inexact quantifier. Everything is going to be closed through April. Probably May. But keep in mind “zero new infections” isn’t going to be the standard by which we open things up again. The standard is going to be “have we flattened the curve enough to keep up with those…
“for example, does Ralph leave a coat down there”
Here is a novel idea: if you cannot afford kids (including child care) do not have kids.
This is insanity.
Handful of things here:
You are tragically bad at math.
You are entitled to your opinion (although you are wrong), but I’m not sure why you (or anyone) would risk their dog’s life over this.
Please stop spreading misinformation. Grain free food can ABSOLUTELY hurt (or kill) your dog. Please read the scientific papers on this. Too many dogs are dying young of heart issues that were 100% preventable.
Tufts Vet school has done some excellent work on this. I highly recommend checking out their website and reading the underlying scientific papers. https://vetnutrition.tufts.edu/2019/07/dcmupdate/
I’m 8 inches taller than you, but that’s not crazy tall. While it would be great if the airlines just gave everyone more room, you are being a selfish prick is you knowingly hurt someone by reclining your seat into their knees.
Please explain to me how “sitting up” will help? Sitting up places my knees squarely in the tray table. You must be terrible at geometry.
So you are saying “fuck tall people”? I realize it is not a protected class, but I cannot help being tall anymore than someone can help being visually impaired, hearing impaired or mobility impaired. Are you also against modifying your selfish behavior to avoid hurting them?
