Drums actually have more braking force than discs. It’s why big rigs still use drums, some times on all axles. If we consider the surface area of the cylinder barrel of the drum, vs 2x the area covered by a brake caliper it’s obvious that drums have a lot more to work with, especially on heavy duty applications where…
