This car is not a collectible, nor is it desirable. It may be a rare combo, but it’s a mass-production car and not worth what the seller is asking. ND.

Honestly, if my car was stolen, I think I’d rather just get the insurance check than have it back. Odds it comes back undamaged and unabused are so low that I’d rather not foot the liabiliy for any future problems. So if cops wreck it pursuing it, at least I’ll be satisifed they caught the thief

How would you effectively stop it? Just letting insurance handle the aftermath just screws everyone else since they will simply raise the rates or just pull out of the area if thefts get too much, but obviously chasing and pit or grapple hook presents collateral risks as well. I vote to have an army of drones to tail…

Musk isn’t dumb, he is acting dumb. The guy knows his orbital physics, for instance, which is a lot more than you or I grasp. I’m not a fan of him either, I don’t like a lot of his choices, but his IQ isn't sub 100.

petabyte(bit)/second hasn’t anything to do with the transmission propagation rate, it has to do with the transmission bandwidth. Transmission delay has to do with the transmission propagation rate; as you noted, latency.

Except with a $1 trillion valuation, clearly Musk isn’t pissing off his shareholders. Most are probably thinking of Amazon during its early loss-leader days, hoping to get in while the gettin’ is good.
