I really feel like something gummed up the works between the end of Loki and now. Things would have made a lot more sense if Ant man III had come out about six months after Loki and all this filler had just never happened.

extremely funny seeing people be like ‘while i don’t think danny masterson should be on the show, and agree his behavior is irredeemable, but i am shocked and appalled that when this review was describing the first show they didn’t mention his character’
there is contrarianism spurred by perversity, where your article of faith has to be full commitment to something everybody knows is not true but you have to act exactly as though it is true...and then there is contrarianism that demands perversity, that you upend the natural order and swear that margarine is better…
Gunn realizes what works best for DC is to lean in on all of its goofiness instead of Snyder’s grimdark horseshit. He gave us Starro the Conquerer, he should do more of that. Give me Mr. Myxlplyx. Give me Bat-Mite. Give me Detective Chimp. Give me Mr. Mind. Give me Jimmy Olsen marrying a goddamn gorilla.
You really just hate being alive, don’t you?
Why do so many people rush in to defend Disney, the largest media corporation in history, when someone mildly insults their output?
Same. The first mention of Midsommar was a total jolt.
I got so confused when the ultra recent references began pouring in, I thought it was gonna be a “period” show, I thought it’d have been a lot more interesting
And now for something completely different...
I’m British and I’ve never heard of GB News but if “people say it’s a right-wing channel” I think that defines it as such.
It’s the same dumb bullshit that Parker and Stone pulled 25 years ago when they decided that the best way to be “punk” in LA was to be Republican.
I mean, I would love it if that channel aired Life of Brian.
Oh, Johnny Johnny Johnny. We all know it’s not really to do with free speech when it comes down to it. It’s because you’re a past-the-hill 82 year old who only hasn’t retired because you’ve been utterly taken to the cleaners in your many divorces, and you’ll take money from anyone who’ll throw it at you these days.
Yeah, but I don’t think Generation X will ever get enough cultural cache again that we could use it to get MTV to play videos.
Getting your aging brain caught in the anti-woke hysteria loop really saps the funny out of you.
The argument sketch is one of the funniest, most brilliant sketches in the history of comedy, but can it really sustain a full half hour every week?
A lot of these guys miss the fact that their cultural touchpoints haven’t changed in 40+ years and are now irrelevant, and chalk it up to “woke” culture. Like, Jerry Seinfeld had an article where he complained that this joke didn’t land:
Someone needs to show Cleese the clip from the stand up comic doing a set in NJ, who was not only heckled by Trump trash but actually assaulted—they threw a can of beer at her. And she not only handled it beautifully, getting the rest of the audience to laugh at the Trump trash, but she picked up the can and drank…
focuses much of it’s air time on criticizing woke culture
Amusingly Cleese pointed out at the same time that Monty Python wouldn’t get commissioned by the BBC today because it was “Six white men, 5 of whom went to Oxbridge”, without thinking about why they did get commissioned in 1969.
