When my wife was learning to drive, my mother-in-law gave her some terrible advice. She said any time you are going around a curve in the road it’s ok to drift into the other lane if you need to. So if you’re going around a curve to the right, just maintain your speed and understeer into oncoming traffic. I honestly

4Runner resale values are insane. I once saw a guy in the midwest selling his 12 year old 4Runner with 330,000 miles for $9,000. I hope no one bought it for that price, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did.

Interesting. I remember switching insurance companies while I had a car financed and I got a call from my bank saying I needed to resubmit proof of insurance. I’m guessing it was to help ensure the loan would get paid off even if it was totaled. Too bad the banks didn’t worry that much about mortgages getting paid off

I think you might have missed a decimal or something. Let’s say you drive 1000 miles per year, get 10 miles per gallon, and gas is 3 dollars/gallon. Take 1000/10 = 100 gallons/year in fuel. Then take 100 gallons/yr * 3 dollars/gallon = 300 dollars/year for gas.

Haha I’m not disagreeing with you.

I got stuck with a Focus rental 2 years ago. That thing shuddered constantly under power. It had like 4,000 miles on the odometer. That was before I knew about the transmission issues so I assumed the whole engine was destroying itself. That was the worst rental car I’ve ever had.

I think Penguin thought you were trolling because the budget is listed as $15,000. A 2018 Outback is twice that right?

I had the same thought. Why would you beat up your daily and risk having to find alternate transportation after every race weekend?

If he financed the car with a bank they need proof of full coverage insurance usually. If he totaled the car and won’t need insurance on it anymore he would have to let the bank know why he’s canceling the insurance.

Someone needs to show it to Toyota so they can go ahead and fix the abomination they are calling the 2019 Avalon

I like to see a return on investment in 1.5 years or less. If you don’t drive enough miles to hit that target I would say it’s not worth it.

You have a Mustang and a new 3 series. Seems like you’re doing fine?

Wow that’s terrible. I think Escalades were getting single digits in the mid-2000's though so yours is pretty good right?

Yeah it does. It’s my wife’s daily though so it’s always on her preferred setting which is bright enough to not realize the headlights are off if you’re in a well lit area. They did include a little green headlight icon when the lights are actually on. I guess I just hate switching cars and having the

I hate the always lit dash in my 4Runner. I don’t drive it very often, but when I get in and see the dash is lit up it can be easy to forget that the lights aren’t on. I’m not sure how there isn’t an FMVSS standard to prevent this.

I bought a fairly “nice” (to me at least) Camaro in high school. I parked it at the tennis courts for a match and some kid decided to sit on the bumper while I was playing. Come on man, don’t sit on my cheap 90's GM plastic bumper. It might fall off!

I pulled out of my neighborhood one morning and saw a van slow down and pull to the side of the highway. Then a mountain of garbage went flying out the passenger window and they took off. Ridiculous.

Gas in my area is at $3.09 (absolute cheapest) and as high as $3.49. It was $2.70 just a few weeks ago. If it keeps climbing I wouldn’t be surprised to see $3.50 as the lowest price by the end of June. Sucks when my 4Runner is averaging 17mpg lol. Guess we’ll be keeping our Jetta for the forseeable future.

That’s what forums are for lol. Any time I get a CEL, I pull the code and then go find forum threads about it. Hasn’t failed me yet. Although, I do know my limits and will take it to a mechanic if I can’t figure it out.

I had to mail a broken cell phone to Google when they sent me a replacement and I chose USPS. I still have no idea why I didn’t choose UPS. Anyway, two weeks later Google charges me for the price of the replacement phone because the one I shipped to them never arrived. I checked my tracking number and the facility
