I thought she did hair band rock so much better with Edge of Glory. Not sure she needed to revisit it.

I also hate how she punted on coming to any conclusion about Nate Parker in her op-ed. Saying that since she wasn’t there that night, she can’t say what really happened is a pretty shitty take. Wouldn’t she be pissed if someone said that about her rape?

And sometimes she’s great in truly awful movies. On an airplane I watched Peter Bogdanovich’s mess of a movie, She’s Funny That Way. It’s terrible, but she’s beyond funny and the only reason I didn’t shut the movie off. I think she’s a great and underrated comedic actress.

It means St. Louis fans should be relieved their team dumped them and moved to Los Angeles. The Rams had a chance to take Wentz with the first pick but chose Goff instead.

Off the top of my head, one of my least favorite interviews of hers was with Amy Adams. Amy had 2 movies out in theaters at the time, The Master and Trouble With the Curve. Terry asked 4 long questions about Enchanted, a movie 5 years old at this point, and ran out of time to discuss Trouble With the Curve. I thought

She’s awful. I always think I’m being punked when someone tells me she’s an incredible interviewer. It shouldn’t take a monologue to ask a question.

Even if someone is willing to give the benefit of doubt and allow that someone can change over 17 years, he’s on record from 2014 saying he’d never play a gay character to preserve the black man. He’s still a complete asshole. I hope someone asks him about those comments.

Martindale really is excellent but I don’t think she did enough on last season of The Americans to justify this win. Less than 5 minutes of screen time apparently. Ellen Burstyn should’ve won for her incredible role as Claire’s mom on House of Cards.

Sadly I think alot of what’s on Veep is grounded in some kernel of reality.

He looks he could be an actor Ryan Murphy would cast on American Horror Story.

He’s one of those sacred cows you can’t criticize. I agree though, his voice is entirely grating. I have another voice that everyone defends and thinks I’m crazy when I say bothers me: Stevie Nicks. Great songwriter, but nails on a chalkboard voice for me, just like Dylan.

You may be right in a general sense but Hillary is a terrible example. What could happen in November is such an outlier and so far beyond simply a woman and her husband. This is a former first lady and president returning to the White House in opposite roles. Other than Hillary I don’t think I know who any female

If they’re lucky their son could write and direct a potential Oscar nominated movie in 15 years. #goals

Maybe he can write a Facebook post expressing his overwhelming grief and sadness like Nate Parker did.

And honestly, I’d rather watch Dwayne Johnson be charming and funny for two hours than Leonardo DiCaprio or Daniel Day-Lewis be ACTORS.

Follow up question. “Nate, why did you and your buddy use a fictitious rape scene in the movie to motivate your protagonist? Writing from experience?”

I can’t wait for Nate Parker to discuss this. He and his writing partner (co-defendant) used a fictitious rape scene of Nat Turner’s wife to start the rebellion. There’s no historical evidence this happened. Quite a provocative plot device from these two.

The interesting thing in this case is that it’s not just bros and dudes defending Parker. Because of his movie’s subject matter and he’s a rare rising directing talent of color, some of the most liberal minded people are torn on how to feel. The Jezebel writers have been pretty wishy washy on this. Even more

I hope her next attempt at TV is better than the last time (Extant).

Also way too much PT Anderson on this list. Watching Inherent Vice once was more than enough for me.
