I was actually taking about the spectrum with my lad yesterday, linked to the study I read claiming that the current labels are too specific, and that measures should be in place for individuals, not diagnoses.
My son fidgets when excited, fiddles with things when bored etc, yet the clinical team didn’t declare him ADD/ADHD.
My son, diagnosed Asperger’s, has hyperfocus.
Non US citizen, and never been to the US, though I do have family in Texas.

To be pretty blunt about it, from my personal experience - those who deny sexism exists are the ones guilty of doing it. Same for homophobia in the workplace.
