It’s pretty widely known. The Orange shitstain in the White House even threatened Sen. Booker with it during the presidential election.

Here’s a helpful list of top universities that offer free tuition and often room & board if you make under $60k or so. https://www.collegeraptor.com/find-colleges/articles/affordability-college-cost/these-10-expensive-colleges-have-free-tuition-or-full-ride-scholarships-for-middle-class-families/
All ivy’s have great financial aid/scholarship packages. Lots of high quality liberal arts schools ads also cheaper than state schools because of these same packages. They have huge endowments. Fancy schools aren’t just for the rich.
I have a 16-year-old daughter who a junior and looking at college. She has a very high GPA/test scores from one of the best schools in the state (public) and speaks is fluent in German, yet I have been focusing on state schools because I work for the government and know I couldn’t afford the Yale sticker price.…

It’s a non-starter. These two students don’t have standing in this matter (a. they were accepted and b. nobody’s ever really going to second guess a degree from Stanford).
Nothing deep to say here, but I enjoyed reading this piece. It resonated in a way that was both pleasant and sad. I also lost a friendship over the past few years that had been particularly deep and powerful for me, and in some respects there’s still a bit of grief there.
If he couldn’t beat Cruz, he won’t beat Cornyn. And regarding not wanting someone as eloquently moderate as Obama, I think you might need a reality check on what exactly the US electorate is willing to go for.
For what it’s worth, I’m also unconfortable calling someone a dumb bimbo based on how they present themselves on social media.
I cannot believe how many times in 2019, the year of our lord, the term “Dumb bimbo” has been bandied about this much un-ironically and without an ounce of reflection that no matter who you are speaking of, in whatever context, it’s a shitty thing to call a person.
no shit. people will defend their snark to the death. toxic masculinity? who cares! look at my clapback!
Oh god. I’m not even sure what her point was. Sometimes legacy admissions aren’t so bad, especially when you think about my family? Like, wtf? Also, she’s the living embodiment of white privilege and nepotism. She has no sense of self-awareness and can’t understand there are times when she should really just be quiet.…
McCain often bragged about being a mediocre student who didn’t work very hard and “barely passed” and graduated 5th from the bottom of his class (894 of 899) at the academy.
The move away from merit based admission was in large part to keep out Jewish kids: https://www.businessinsider.com/legacy-admissions-originally-created-keep-jewish-students-out-elite-colleges-2013-10
I think the message of supporting your kids even if they aren’t great intellectuals is fine. Dumb bimbo also rubbed me the wrong way. What she was saying wasn’t bad...but the wording was crappy. No need to throw around phrases like “dumb bimbo”. That’s right up there with still calling women “broads” lol.
You know how people give certain types of men shit for injecting themselves into a conversation that is not about them to offer up a “well, actually.... #notallmen”?
Yeah... There is literally no way Eric got into Georgetown on merit. Went to the same high school. It was (still is) a running joke.
Absolutely. Let’s not pretend that the university system isn’t a kind of meta-fraternity, that for years has given continued preference to those who previously had access, thanks largely to power and privilege. There is a huge machine within these schools that works these family connections for donations and other…
and I love the bullshit conservative narrative how this impacts all the hollywood librul elites...exhibit A is JARED KUSHNER...and then there are the Trumps
