Ever have half a party size bag of Cool Ranch Doritos for dinner while watching TV and feel zero regrets about it?

Highlighting your most successful students is just kinda basic marketing, and that’s on the school. It doesn’t make the learning inherently without value.
When I played college sports, our coaches were not allowed to hang out with us/go out with us unless it was a school-sanctioned, planned event.
But people don’t go to “art school” to become rich. They pursue theater school, conservatory, fine arts, etc to hone their craft, learn from and be critiqued by teachers and peers, and have dedicated time to learn their trade. I’d posit that very few “art school” students are expecting to strike it rich as flautists…
To do background on a client with my old firm, I did a deep dive into their social media presence and found a post advertising a sale on baby formula. I’ve never seen people be so intensely vicious to one another. I’m sorry you went through that and glad your kiddo is doing great.
Wait. Please don’t take my fucking Tesla.
That’s fucking stupid, too. It means that the only valuable learning is the one you can monetize. So everyone should study chemical engineering, nobody should study sociology.
Corporations break and change contracts all the time when the terms are no longer convenient or profitable to them. Corporations also get sold, consolidate, and file for bankruptcy protection when it’s a good business decision. You fully intended to pay and things have changed and it’s not some deep moral dilemma…
FWIW, you can’t do that anymore, either. Personal bankruptcy rules were changed in 2005-2006 and it’s not much more difficult to declare and get out from under any debt.
“the people paying for it don’t get any benefit”...
What the actual, living fuck? A raised standard of living to those people has benefits for everyone. Is this a thing we have to explain to adults in 2019? If you’re the 2% of American household who will finally have to pay a more equitable portion in taxes, you will…
What a shitty take.
People who couch it as “free stuff” are peak disingenuous and intellectually lazy.
It might be anecdotal, but in my immediate circle, this is true almost across the board. Most of my friends are in their early to mid thirties and most of them aren’t buying a house/having a baby because their student loan debt repayment is still so high that it takes up a significant chunk of their incomes.
I can’t drag people kicking and screaming into doing better. That much I know. We (WW) will usually place our discomfort above the needs and lives of Black and POC bodies.
Thank you for taking the time to make this point. I know what you’re referring to and I’m going to take time to think on that. I’m far from a white moderate, but most people around me, and most Americans are, at best, moderates, so I’m not sure how we solve for true progress vs. speed of that progress.
From Kate Spade, this is pretty much the OG of basic totes and it keeps its shape nicely: https://www.katespade.com/products/margaux-large-work-tote/PXRUA468.html?dwvar_PXRUA468_color=522
When it comes to Beyonce, magic is an option. If it makes you feel better, I was also checking the resolution on my screen before realizing they edited the best footage from both shows.
SNL isn’t his only gig. He tours as a comedian, and appears in other TV shows and films. Dude bought his mom a nice house and is staying with her because it’s probably a safe, stable space for him. A real monster.
I’m really glad you have your mom in your life this way.
Swiping and matching gives you the same physiological reward with a lot less work. Matching and not making a move has become the de facto of most dating apps because people enjoy the swiping.
